I'm using Windows Defender only. Also checked firewall apps to allow access to All my COD games no issue I see there. But come to think about it I never had any issues when using my old IPS free Charter security. Hmm. So what do you think is best, uninstall Punkbuster or delete folder.

my specs are :

Windows 10 64fbit

intel 9900k

Asus heroXI  mb

RTX 2080ti hydro

1tb m.2

32gb corsair ram

Me personally, just stick with windows defender and not use other antivirus.  Sometime they conflict but in my opinion, windows is find unless you're doing something off the books.

Punkbuster should not be causing these issues or atleast none i've ever heard of like this.

Did you remove the custom maps as I suggested and just let the game download the maps you play?

Good luck.  Sometimes an older version of a map may conflict with a newer download.

One more thing. Would you delete contents in usermaps or just delete usermaps folder completely?

Don't delete the usermaps folder.  Go into the folder and delete the map(s) that is giving you grief.

Well its been a long journey, and its back to normal again. I think steam backed up some old maps that made a conflict with loading or something.

Thank you for your patients. Ya know I've been a XI member for 15 years. Ever since COD 2 was released in 2005. I don't think I could have solved this on my own.

Its still fussy with errors from time to time when switching maps but no big deal. Its expected. Now on to downloading 300 maps, but with an m.2 drive its really fast.

Again thank you Merlin and Buckkilla.

On steam version, dose anyone know what file location or pathway to extract map packs to try a to. Tried 2 suggestions and didn't seem to work. Still freezing when switching maps. I appreciate all the help that's been given. Damn I wish that downloader worked.

Well, I found the location where it is in Steam Version, I have Windows 7 Pro. Now I just have to figure out how to access the location.

It's the same as before River Rat.  Have hidden files viewable and you'll find all your maps in the usermaps folder in that path.  I also have win 7 pro and steam version.
