Maybe check to see if the resolution in game is the same as your monitor.

A ..Have you had a Windows Update? when this happened B before you follow below check if you have these latest versions Windows update should have installed them anyway to newer version,if you have not run an update do it

.Netframework runtime 4.8...

Microsoft visual c++ Redistributable 2017[latest one i have] to check follow step 1 and 3] and look for  Programmes and Features open it shows whats installed[ this is also better way to unistall more than one one prog if you want to delete anything]

B.You could try a clean install of your graphic drivers...and i mean clean! lol....ps you do this at own risk if not feeling confident do not follow below steps..newer drivers just get hidden but can cause problems so best rid of it all]

first get CCleaner if you not got it  you want free verision...https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download

Step 1

Win 10  click start scroll through apps to Windows System open Control Panel on right select view small icons [ find this easier to find stuff i normal use] now look for File Explorer Options folder ,open it select view tab,8th one down check the show hidden folders[ your going to need appdata this makes it visible]

Step 2..... download recent graphic driver

Step 3...Control panel  Devices..Display Adapter...right click uninstall inc software if asked

Step 4.. open  C drive.... right click .win start- run at bottom type C :

Step 5.... locate graphic card folders mines AMD ...Nvidia....... ...then delete them ....for 32 bit it will be in Program files in 64 bit it will be in Program files and and Program(x86)...if you get msg unable to delete as running, right  click on task bar open taskmanger find it and right click and stop,on msg hit re try

Step 6 ..while your in C :   under Program data  you will see Users... open it you will see Default  Public and your PC name.. open them all one at time and delete the Amd or Nvidia folders..... now close

Step 7   Run CCleaner Registry cleaner... twice do not save  when asked delete

Step 8 Shut down and restart Windows should re-install default display adapter, sometimes  1 in 10 its a pain, shut pc down if it does not unplug hit power button, replug back in start and everything should do  as it should

Step 9... run CCleaner Reg cleaner again and do same as before if it finds left over hotkey /reg files[ these you delete as in step 7 are all old driver reg keys]

Step 10....install new driver for graphic card

If your pc is staying on and running but your screen is black it could be a connection issue.

Turn your pc off and...

Back of tower make sure none of the cables are loose. Back of monitor make sure none of the cables are loose.

ok try this ,restore it back to an earlier date,if it was an update chances are it may correct itself:

Win 10  click start scroll through apps to Windows System open Control Panel-System on top left Advanced system settings- System Protection Tab-System restore open it pick a date  roughly  two weeks back...see if that corrects it.....

Ok just had brain fart you built this, try removing the graphic card and rock it back into place a few times,if you can and have a clean dry toothbrush run it up down channnle few times....

Had this problem few yrs back pc tech told me to do it,plus latest one i just built had same problem board powers up nothing on screen, had to do this,IF that fails, you could be looking at graph cards gone tits up,if you have a spare try it

Don't give up.

You came for help and anyone here will do their best to sort all this out for you.

One post is not just going to give it a miracle fix.

Everyone will post different suggestions for you to try.

Eventually someones suggestion is going to be the fix.

You just need to be patient and try the suggestions people post.

Another suggestion is maybe you could go on teamspeak and get someone to walk you through some suggestions.

There is a lot of pc geeks oops I mean whizzes here lol

Sounds like a GPU driver problem or so

Markoff best thing to do is boot your PC using your motherboard graphics rather than your GPU so VGA or HDMI depending what your motherboard takes

If you are still getting black screens then just take out your GPU and continue using the motherboard graphics to try sort the issue out

Rollback previous GPU drivers or simply just go the nvidia/amd driver website and download the second to the most recent driver

Go to CMD and type sfc /scannow (which will see if any windows files are broken and repair them for you)

Put back in the GPU after all that and see if you are still getting the black screens
