That is awesome!

Be sure that you update the BIOS or else maybe you don't get all RAM sorted on XMP speed. Cobryis got the same motherboard from me and the rest of his build. That motherboard is great with all features and a great pick of parts Rock!

Looks amazing, but how much RAM is that, 16, 32, or 64? Having 4 sticks works much better performance wise than having 2 but just make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date to have less compat issues if you do go for 4 sticks in the future. Also yea @Sammy I'm guessing around $3k US for all of that lol.

It's dual channel ,so 2 ram stick works perfect .

He, @Oster is actually right, but performance you might not notice.

When all slots, even with a 2 slots motherboard out there(the BIOS controls that), it is benefiting 100% of the Chipset lanes to the CPU.
All 4 slots filled, the CPU is longing for all lanes to work slightly better. True, you still have DUAL channel, but depending on the BIOS.

Even not DUAL channel mode, hence JayzTwoCents tested that

1 = 4x4GB
2 = 2x8GB taking the wrong slots, like Slot A and B
3 = 2x4GB
4 =1x8GB
5 = 1x4GB
What I am missing in his test, 2x4GB and 2 slots open, but he shows 2x8GB in his start video and 2x4GB. Or, he has done with number 3.
Anyways, test it yourself with f.e. 3DMark06

Keep an eye on your power under stress, recommended minimum power supply for RTX 2080 Black is 650 watt.

He will not hit, 450Watts total. I bet not even 400. He is fine.

I can power up a 2011 system with a i7-3930k(130W TDP) with a GTX1080  or a power-hungry Zotac GTX970 (dual 2x8pins needed) and overclocked, I get 450W.

When 6 core and 12 threads was already there in 2011 LMAO, Intel wakes up and AMD beats them.

And you need this because handing out medals and creating them was CPU and ram and video intensive then ? Well I just thought maybe being a head admin is cpu ram video intensive yea don't think so that thick skin crap. So after pondering for say 2 .6 seconds i'd still beat you at any game :) except fighting fires :)

Jay shows the difference between single vs dual channel ,why should you put two ram sticks in a single channel cfg ?

At the end the conclusion is that 4 dims that act like dual rank  has a slight performance increase ,but only with a high end gpu @ 1080p ,and stil depending on the ram speeds and timings  ,with just two ram sticks you can always go for a higher clockspeed and better timings ,in normal circumstances ....say at least 1440p ,and i think for a 2080ti means normal on 4k the difference is not noticable .

My advice is when you having 4 ram slots and your goal is gaming ,then put 2 ram stick each of 8 GB ,when needed more capacity you always have some space left to put two modules more in there .

Like a said before , two ram sticks in dual channel cfg works perfect ,while Oster wrote "Having 4 sticks works much better performance wise than having 2"

Replace "much better" for in some scenarios slightly better performance .

Please remember that these benchmark test showing the bottleneck's with high end gpu's  @ 1080p only ,at 4k wich is the 2080ti territory the gpu is always the bottleneck .

Damn nice system.

You might have to back that OC down a tad bit if you populate those other 2 memory slots in the future and you start having problems. Bump up your CPU/NB voltage a bit to compensate if your VRMs are not up to the task. The Z390-F has good VRMs and cooling but you never know.

2 sticks is better than 4 for a rock solid stable overclock.  I had my AMD FX 8320 overclocked to 5.4ghz stable with a 2x4gb kit. Water cooled of course. Upgraded to a 4x4gb kit and the highest that I can get it to go was 4.8ghz stable. Currently running at 4.6ghz on all cores. It's stable and still runs cool. Good enough for me.

I wanted to see how high it would go and I did have it clocked to 5.7ghz with 1 stick of memory and it was stable but it was getting pretty darn Hot even with 4 140mm 72cfm fans on a 280mm Corsair H115i. Not bad for a $120 3.5ghz base clock chip eh? Yes my cooler cost more than the CPU lol.  The FX 8350 still holds the Guinness World Record @ 8.794ghz on nitrogen with 1 2gb stick of memory.
