Your recent game of COD4, did you get it from Steam or CD?

I used to be by CD, i still have it but for some reason my CD roms are not behaving properly so I am forced to use steam and had to pay MORE money for the game sadly. I know more n more systems are coming out with NO cd roms since games are becoming more n more digital downloads only. So I am curious.

Said this before, Steam now have an iron grip on the gaming world, you now don't own anything physical, it's the same reason why lp's are making a comeback, they control your gaming world, let the peasants revolt.

I have the cd.

To buy a cd rom now it is only $15.

The majority of torrents do not have viruses and spyware attached to them as the websites that host them test all the torrents before they are posted.

Got mine at Amazon many years ago. Actually two. First one for the Mac and the next one later on for PC. Buying via Steam... or one of its competitors... has its benefits and drawbacks.

Strictly speaking, nobody has ever owned a game. Just a license. Even all those free Linux games are under license. You can do whatever you want, with limitations and/or requirements, but dont own them. At best, you own a piece of plastic. Of course with Steam you dont even own the plastic. ?

So if you did lose that piece of plastic, but kept the license, you could borrow another piece of plastic from a friend and reinstall the game. The one thing I dont like is that too often you cant transfer the license from the CD to digital. That's a money grab.
