Well, that may be a good sign.  Getting people out of their comfort zone a bit and having to think about the new features and options is an indication of how well this is thought out by the developer.  If you have real world indications of challenges that maybe should be rethought or bugs then bring them here.

My final thoughts.. After playing  this for about a month or how ever long.. It's simple. Might as well bring back the old mod. Nothing has changed here . Guns are worthless and speed seems to slow.. Jump height has not changed and certain gun classes are worthless.. The players that exploited the old mod are still doing so here . With mod set as it is imo and  the work you put into it, Haven't changed a thing.. The purpose imo of a new mod is simple.. Make a new mod, Not a rehash of the old one..As for being technical.. I read most of the post and plenty of good people have given you lots of good info which i have seen no changes on...Understand I do appreciate  all your work, But the first two weeks the mod was out, Were the best, Should have changed nothing after that ... Good luck finishing it ..

Problem is... make the mod too different and people werent interested. Been there, done that. The guns are worthless unless you come from the perspective of all the original cod4 ones. Some obviously think this is a step in the wrong direction, however others think the opposite. You're not going to make everybody happy and its a fools errand to try.

Everything that needs to be said and why has already been. No need to rehash it.

Mainly because no one else is playing there now, which says a lot to me? I like them both, who are you ????????

In fact today is the perfect day to do our own survey as Sunday is usually one of the busiest days. Let the players decide, all those who prefer the old server play on it and ditto the new server, just for today, nothing like a real life statistic? Could even do it officially next week?

I like the old mod, but I'm open to changes so some players can have more fun with new mods, the important thing is to have fun and be with friends.

this is a stupid mod all this gun/rifle have no power people did not die, and when you shoot your gun jump op and down,  the old version is so much better, why make aa new

there are more players complaining on this mod then having fun, this mod is definitely NOT hardcore! mod was fun untill all the changes, instead of making weapons weaker why dont make the other ones better Not happy with This Mod in all the years i played here i have never complained.

Here is my 2 cents.

First off, thanks to Sammy for all your hard work.

I am not a fan of this mod and feel it is a step backwards.  But I play it. And the reason I play it is because that is where people are. For now.

But it appears to me that with the exception of peak times, traffic on the server is down. And that is a troubling sign.  I'm sure admins can confirm whether this is true.

I agree with the frustration. Thanks for trying to improve the mod, but I think it didn't do much.  My opinion on the mod is hit marker shots are not doing a lot of damage. Some guns are way to powerful in the game like the MK46, All everyone is doing now is spamming walls I know cause was I am doing it. I like to try all guns, some sway some not. Sniper rifles to me have gotten worse.

As for your everyone is enjoying themselves I beg to differ all I hear in game is complaining.

If half of the people are using the LSAT, can you at least reduce the sound of that weapon ? Little less louder?

Why did we remove the new mod? 

Here's the deal. This game is fun when even the least skilled person can get a kill from a noob gun. When this mod was first loaded up in beta testing, it felt like real hardcore COD4MW, something players have been complaining about all along, since v1.46. Ever wonder why the oldest playerbase still reminisces about the ACR? All the updates that allow a player to heal, or wear protective armor make the game soft core. I appreciate the sentiment behind wanting to change, adding new dynamics, but you have to know your audience.

NOOB GUN (Saritch, ACR etc...)

Pros:

- Everyone has equal opportunity to dominate
- It's easy to get kills with low starting health of players
- Less frustration with not getting kills, and hit marker reg issues
- More run & gun style game play, this is what makes the game so lively

Cons:

- Easy to dominate, and the sore losers will whine a lot, A LOT, achuuuagnusuuuuu
- Everyone uses the same gun most of the time
- Strategy is mostly run & gun (wait this should be a pro, fixing that)
- Other weapons are left for enthusiasts

I liked the new mod for all its improvements and fixes on the v1.46, especially better hit registration.

@Sammy, would you consider the following, just for shits and @Giggles:

- Restore Saritch/SMR stats similar to v1.46
- Remove protection Perks to make room for other offensive perks (this evens as even the strongest players is easy kill)
- Heist is excellent, It ruins the gameplay when abused in its first introduced form. I believe you have been tuning it since.
- Restore Player Health stats similar to the base game's Hardcore mode
- Put the RCXD back, make it 4 kills if you think it's too easy to get

Please understand this, when the weakest player in the game feels like he can get kills and earn kill streaks without employing any special tactics, you've achieved success. It's an easy game, there is no point in making it harder or more tactful, its not supposed to be like BF4, or ARMA. Which is not to say the backporting of the weapons, streaks from new versions of the game is not welcome. We love it. New AGM, new helicopter what have you bring it on. New perks, why not. 

On a side note, have you considered removing some of the perks, streaks to make the mod stable for more players. Can we support, say, 40 players?. I think that is bigger issue to address than any with the game at this moment. 

If you only care that people should enjoy what you want them to enjoy then thank you for reading this far and disregard everything I said. On the other hand, why not give it a shot...

 

If you like I can learn the code and spend some time making the adjustments, this is a sincere offer. I already  feel bad for making this post, because I can only imagine how many man hours you put in this. Please consider, I hate to see v1.47 being scrapped when it could've so easily been made fun. I won't lie, I did not enjoy the game anymore with the fair and balancing err... nerfing of the guns.

Many people have added there 2 cents and so I'll add mine. 

First, I want to say thank you Sammy for all the hard work and effort you have put into designing a new mod. I also don't think that there is enough appreciation from XI members for that. I have read many of the comments and am disheartend at the attitude of many that have commented. I think you have had many great ideas and I appreciate you incorporating them in the mod. I personally think the best way to go about the new mod would be a very simple one.  If you could come up with a thread or something where people could propose a change and then there will be a vote on it. If the majority vote yes then that could be incorporated into the new mod. That way you won't be in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. People could have a limited amount of days to vote (1 vote each ) and once it's voted on then that becomes final. No one will be perfectly happy no matter what but at least then the mod can be what the players want it to be.      Just my two cents, and again, thank you.

It's looking awfully like lets bash the new mod regardless? told you what to do, no vote needed, when the new mod is back up and running for this week, only play on the mod you like best that will show preferences immediately. All you hear playing the new mod is moaning, but no one says lets go to the old mod? Perhaps I'm not a good enough player but to me there are not that many differences, you still have to shoot people and unfreeze, the rest is candy, I like the new mod, and I like the old mod, but I'm easily pleased.

So the biggest problem people have right now is that the guns deal a bit less damage? You have to hit a guy 2 times instead of 1 every once in a while, so what. Imo that's not a reason to "just go back to the old mod". There are many improvements, new weapons and other stuff in the new mod. Some things just need a bit more fine-tuning but that shit takes time. New=Good & keeps things fresh.

Oh and i also read some stuff about the snipers being worse. As someone who uses snipers quite often i can't say i've noticed this. 

 

Ps. The actual biggest problem right now is all those bastards who pick the Lsat just to spam every wall they see :P.

No yeah this confuses me too, people complain about the new mod, so Rugger puts the old mod back up on a different server as a compromise, then the whiners continue to play the new mod that they 'hate' as opposed to the old one they love?? Sounds like they just want to complain about shit.

Honestly I like the old mod, playing it again feels like an old shoe, but also smells the same.

I miss the new mod, all the awesome stuff invigorates and refreshes this ancient 14 year old game so much it's amazing.

I am just getting my feet wet, really, in the new mod.  I have gone through maybe 1/4 of the weapons so far.   Personally, I am enjoying the fact that the G3 actually seems like the gun I always wanted it to be in this mod.  I'd like to see the MGs be a little less dominating, but oh well.

I still would like the double barreled shotgun back!

I see some pretty big shifts in overall tactics/strategy in the new mod compared to the old mod.

For the people that have said "lol the old mod is up, go play there if you want". There is more to it than that. As several have pointed out, part of playing on the server is a sense of community, splitting off to another server and having reduced numbers on both doesn't sound much fun. The server is always most fun when it is full.

If you haven't noticed the new guns affecting the gameplay on the server, then it must not have affected your own style of play. For the now many who have posted in this thread that there is an issue, it has. The whole point of this thread is to put forth new ideas. Perhaps a few have said let's go back to the old mod, a lot of us have not. A lot of us were enjoying the first 3-4 weeks when the new mod was playing, then the smr was abruptly changed, right after the new mod was put onto the main server.

I think many of us are currently "waiting and seeing" how things progress. A lot of us have been playing here for years and are not just suddenly going to drop off. However, inevitably if people are finding things less enjoyable they will move on or play less, and as previously pointed out I don't think there are enough new people playing the game to replace them.
