Hello all after some thoughts on bringing the possibilties of the Cod series games into a new realm I would like to talk to some of you in regards to creating a mod and maps that has not been done before...

We know we have teleports and hidden area abilities so what if we hid portals into a darker side of the map that would allow players to enter a different realm on the same map...

Perhaps one above ground and one below or side by side...The one below could have zombies to combat as well as opposing team mates...

I had an idea that you spawn around a big dark hole then jump in and it takes you 2 one or more different maps / levels ?? was going to call it mp_the_hole

it would have to be a map with different levels more like different rooms because you would have to find a way around the global light setting. Zombies I don't think it would work different game type. Maybe skin the dogs to look like zombies and have them run around ?? Different weather patterns too different seasons. different years or eras

we do have maps with teleporters in them now,,its not impossible to do.

I have an idea for a mod if someone like @Sammy would be interested,,my girls play a mod type game in cod4 on xbox and its kinda cool...they call it Jason,,after the movie,,,1 person is Jason and he has to find the others and kill them , the last person is only one that can kill Jason,,everyone only has a knife,,its based off search and destroy. Jason is Randomly picked as well.

i mean i could give a hand way back when the openwarfare mod was in it's peak i did a few lines for it not in my hay day now for coding anyways but i could look into some basic things like random weather on a map every time it loads so fog rain sun night snow etc. as well as the film effects to go with but like i said not my hay day no more haha as for zombies it's not in the realm of impossibility to add them to dm ftag tdm etc just takes a bit of time and work people should always remember all games have a human touch in them and can be twisted and moulded to suit ?

I was thinking dogs ?

There are some great ideas just putting them together...So a thought would be "two ships"- teams spawn on each ship then go below deck to a portal to a "island" for the final fight

So first we fight it out on the ships then go to the island ? Here's where it get complicated. We hide the portals to the island ( do they work both ways)  Then we all fight on the island ? Or portals from one ship to the other ship then the island ? and we battel it out all the way to the island ? Whats teh end game ?

Well I have been thinking this out as a TDM game style so end game would be to kill opposing team and would be best one way portal...This where I need great minds (unlike mine) to think it thru...I know some of you have made maps that could be incorperated into this idea there by reducing the build times and allow on the concept of it...

By all means it would be that of the creators and with thought input from communties it may evolve into something not seen or done before...Some zombie maps have hints of this in them but were always geared towards zombies only...

In researching I have found the "No Players Online" game and it's discovery of that theme...

"Team spawn on ships-Go below fight past zombie dogs to get to portal-TDM on island"

IDK something like this would work. We could cut a map into say 3 sections for this idea. Clip them off from each other . As well we could get more rooms and create more levels.

So the map construction the easiest I can figure out anyway. One sky box so all is contained in one map. Top level is the ships. You can see and shoot each other from each ship. You portal to the next room. In a 3d view it would be below the water or maybe a small cloud town above. Portal over and fight the next thing we can create plus the other team. If you die you spawn back at the boat and start your trip over. If you find the next portal you travel on. My guess is we will have to hide these room under the water. In the end I figure it will be like freeze tag in the fact that the first team to control the last level will win. 

 Problems is room sizes we can only make a map so large so it will only fit so many rooms. Portal exits going to need more than one each of they will just be camped at and the game will die at the first portal exit.

 We can create death wall traps and traps portal of death LOL portals that send you right back to the begining and so on.

I would say no from ship to ship but some may load out as a sniper ?

Hi guys.  I work with COD2 map making.  LoaderXI asked that I come and comment.

I have made a map called OHMY Heaven and Hell.  Heaven is on top and Hell is below (duh).  I have created teleporters (4 in Heaven and 4 in Hell).  Stairways will transport you to Heaven (from Hell) and highways will transport you to Hell (from Heaven).  Stairway to Heaven and Highway to Hell.

Not sure if this is similar to what you are working on.

Yes something of the sorts but on a grander scale....Such as maybe zombie dogs,gun caches,portal to final battle grounds....Tdm would be the primary function but we can evolve from there ? as mention above picture two battle ships at sea and a island off in distance....Battle zombie dogs below deck to portal to island for final battle

So are you having issues creating the portals (teleports)?  I'm not sure I understand if you are having a problem, or are working thru a map idea (which sounds fun btw).
