OK, I will bite:  Why is it funny?  Saves 15 min. of grease abatement.

I didn't make it, I bought it off amazon for about 8 bucks; then set the splatter screen across the top... probably just put a length of aluminum foil across the top next time.  As a side note, aluminum used to be more expensive than gold, as it was more 'rare' before modern extraction processes.  (Napoleon even had a set of utensils and the like, from what I remember.)

Yea saw your link, it was the top I meant, yes aluminium was indeed rare, no one ever thinks gold could go the same way but if huge deposits were found it would go down in price. Copper is the thing that surprises me, the price has rocketed over the last few years, your grannies old pans and ornaments are worth more melted down than antiques.

Yes, Sixgun, that's what I have on top of the panel.  It's the 3-segment panel for ~$8 that is a great post-cooking timesaver on cleanup. Splatter screens don't catch all the grease poppin' from a pan;  especially if bacon is being fried.

or you could but the splatter screen right on top of the frying pan.

@Timmah!, the best time saving tool in the kitchen is a wife, available on good Thai websites, but check the goods before purchase 😂

Banish the thought.  I savour my quietude & autonomy.

The drive in window is also a good kitchen saving device.

I am surprised Timmah, with your cooking prowess I would have thought that you would have a gas stove for a more controlled heat.

Gas not available where I currently reside.  Could set up a camping stove in my living room.
