So I bought a complete new setup, and when I play a game, and some hard sounds take place, the sound will go 'outside of my earcups and my mic will pick it up so teammembers in discord hear it. For example, if i watch a video through my headset, and I lay down the headset on my desk, my mic is continuesly llighting up, picking up every sound of it.

I didn't have this with my old pc, so it must be some general windows setting or...? Maybe could it just be that the sound is simply too hard and the headset (Corsair HS45) aint isolating the sound good enough so it 'leaks' to the mic?

Any help/suggestions are appreciated!

Strange until I searched up that headset and its 3.5m jack, are you using that or the USB connector that comes with it instead?

Are you also using the Corsair audio software?

Using the USB connector since it stated that it enables the surround sound. Playing mainly pubg so relying on surround sound a lot. I did download the ICUE software but didn't do anything specific and got some advices to don't download it, so removed it again. Same with my old headset (Logitech G430) of which everyone said as well to not download the software.

The issue seems to be realtek audio control panel then if you are not using the corsair software. It is recommended to use the software provided by Corsair if you want to get the best out of the surround sound as the drivers are optimised to work better with the headset. You have more audio settings to tweak on the software, such as noise removal etc

Strange that people are telling you not to use the software provided especially with your last Logitech headset, I have a G633 and I know for a fact that without Logitech GHUB installed that you would not get the full 7.1 surround sound

Don't you need the software to get the 7.1 audio? Have you tried using the 3.5 mm jack to se if it repeats the mic bleed through? I had a couple Razar headsets that started Mic bleed through to the audio but it was a wiring issue of the headsets. Barron posted similar while I was writing this. You should try installing the software to see if it fixes the issue or try the 3.5mm jacks

Edit*

I dont think it would be realtek audio, cause you are using it via USB with no software installed. On your audio devices it probably just shows as "usb audio device", realtek wouldnt have anything to do with that, it would be your windows audio instead

Downloaded the software, do i need to to anything extra or does downloading it alone also make improvements? It doesn't show a whole lot of settings that can be tweaked. Only getting an qualizer board, something i know absolutely nothing about and dont wanna mess with that 😛

I have not used Razer or Corsair headsets so I am not too familiar with their software for headsets, I did lookup the Corsair ICUE on Youtube, seems pretty basic compared to Logitech.

Theoretically you can use the 3.5mm on your PC , Realtek will then deal with that end of it since its using an Audio/Headphone jack. It wont be as good as USB audio with software

Like below is an example of my GHUB settings for my headset

xi1.thumb.PNG.cfcdbb9302caaacd1114e781702a0d10.PNG

xi2.thumb.PNG.eefc077bafe6a6a967a7110a4100dcd5.PNG

Due to my headset I can choose the the higher bit rates for audio quality with DTS audio or lower with Dolby. The other options of the left are for macro's with buttons on the sides and lightsyncs.

I have the option to hook up a 3.5mm also to mine but I wouldn't get any of the following above, and quality/features would be sub par considering the price I payed for it.

@Dessy You haven't answered if your headset has changed since software was installed, either through USB or 3.5mm

Sound havent changed since i installed the software through USB, but didnt tweak anything either. The kind of settings you get in your pictures, i cant get. Can only start tweaking some audio and do a little bass/game sound balancing/prioritising. I will check the 3.5mm tonight (and yes, talking about the jacks ;) )

I rarely use my mic. However, when I first started playing on XI servers I had a shitty headset. Apparently the mic was not working. Someone told me to pull my mic our of my ass. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I did however go buy a new mic.

But no, really, the only issues with discord ive had the few times ive used it.. was realizing I could turn down the music bot and still hear people in the raid talking.  (For when I was playing WoW Classic.) Does this also happen when your using TeamSpeak, or only Discord?

Maybe try push to talk if your not already using it? Would at least minimize the back feed your streaming into the channel. As for the actual issue for the back feed issue, im not sure. If your not using push to talk and your putting your headset on the desk, I would assume the mic would be able to pick up on the volume of the headset and feed it back if it is loud enough.

All though, is if you recently purchased the headset, try and exchange it if possible. Would eliminate faulty wiring in the headset itself.

Have you tried something so simple as to turn mic level down or mic sensitivity.

I would be willing to put money on your issue being 100% Discord as their software is complete rubbish. Use push to talk only and turn off all discord sound enhancements incl automatic gain control. It is the absolute worst only outdone by the likes of Roger Wilco...if anyone remembers that.

Reading this because my sound is reversed meaning with the mic near my mouth I hear shots from the left in my right ear and visa versa. Some issue with old PC and now my new PC so hoping to find some ideas about how to fix the problem. The players on COD2 Servers don't believe I have a Mic even though since the game is brand new in order to play in Multiplayer Mode the game will only launch if it finds a mic. I know this for a fact because my wife hates when I use mine she nags "You are too loud and why are you always swearing things like you fucking hack and do you know who the fuck I am?" She also asked me all the time "What does Banning a mother fucker for life do and do you have to yell when you say it" so for several years I have not used my Mic but I did forget to plug it back in when I had a plug in Mic and separate speakers. Long story short without the Mic game would crash during loading. I really just wanted points and to gripe about my wife lmao, Good Luck and I hope I can switch my sound around so I can start cussing at some bitches.
