80's Music Post

Hmm.  1980 itself saw quite a few great lp's released.  I'd say Right off the bat ....  AC/DC Back in Black.   Mutt Lange did a great job on it.   Then you had British Steel (Judas Priest),  I like Bowies Scary Monsters, but it didn't get very good reviews for some reason.  Sabbath reincarnated with Ronnie at the helm (Heaven and Hell).  VH Women and Children First !!  J. Geils (Love Stinks), Gaucho (Steely Dan), Motorhead "Ace of Spades",  The Pretenders, Ozzy (Blizzard), Lenon (double fantasy), Dire Straits (Making Movies).  Plus many, many more.   1980 was a good year !!  It all went to shit after 1985🙂

Hi. Loved some 80's songs like Jump and Panama (Van Halen), Another one Bites the Dust (Queen), Fight for Your Right (Beastie Boys), Welcome to the Jungle (Guns N’ Roses), Janie’s Got a Gun (Aerosmith) and one of my favourites: Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode). At first i didn't like them that much, but my wife took me to a concert. It was fulminant sound and a great performance.

I love late 70's and early 80's rock.  Been to several shows,  But the best I ever seen was Heart, in 2019 (I think)  They were absolutely amazing!  I drove about 4 hours to see them, and I would do it again 1000 times.

The 80's, the best of times, the worst of times ... https://www.theguardian.com/film/2010/jul/29/80s-culture-a-team-karate-kid

IMHO, this song sums up what the 80's was like -->

Since I graduated High School in 1984, I was literally in the heart of the 80's music craze.  I saw three distinct types of music in the 80's
80's Pop (Michael Jackson, Madonna, etc)
80's Metal (Dokken, Poision, Whitesnake, etc)
80's Alternative (INXS, REM, U2, The Church, Peter Murphy)

Although "Cuts You Up" by Peter Murphy was released in 1989, I still find it the quintessential 80's song.
