Please keep in mind this post is for those that have had expedience AFTER THEY HAVE HAD THE AstraZenecz/Covidshield VACCINE!

Really not looking for conspiracy and melodrama posts.

I'd like to know if anyone has had had immune responses or negative results after receiving their first and or second AZ shots.

This is my experience so far!

April 15/2021 at 11:53 am I received my first AstraZenecz/Covidshield vaccine shot. April 16/2021 about 1:30 pm I started to feel uncomfortable, a bit squeamish with a slight headache. I worsened and by 3:30 I was in bed with a slight fever. for the next 5 hours I was stuffed up sore with a slight fever. I just felt bad, nothing major just not right. At about 10:00pm same day the fever left and my sinuses cleared. I felt feverish a few times through the night and did not sleep well. Other than being tired today I seem OK.

Please share your experiences with AstraZenecz/Covidshield.

Thanks

Wayne

Exact same symptoms with the Johnson and Johnson which is made the same way as the Astra Zeneca. Did not really start to feel well until the next morning.

A few family members had similar symptoms, maybe not quite as bad, that also went away quickly. This was after 1st astra zeneca dose.

Had mine on a Tuesday, felt a little out of sorts towards the end of the day. Following day I felt pretty rough, lethargic and kept getting chills. Fine by the Thursday.

My arm was sore for about a week, with swelling in the area and a rash appearing on the Sunday.

But generally not too bad of an experience.

My dad had the same shot at the same time and reported no side effects.

My mum also had the same shot a couple weeks earlier and only felt slightly unwell the following day.

Thanks all! Crazy time in history with this Covid. I wonder what the history books will say in 20, 50 and 100 years from now?

Starting tomorrow it's going to be 45 and older so you'll be elligible.

Any of you here got the Moderna one and what were the effects ? My appointment for AZ is in May (essential services worker), but I wonder if I shouldn't go for Moderna instead, which I could do.

I had both Moderna with no side effects other than a sore arm for a day or two.

Indeed and thank you ! lol But I work in a school, so as the nurses back in January, all schools staff members are allowed to have their vaccine. They only need a proof of our employer. I can have the Moderna one as early as in 2 weeks.

We had the Moderna one on April 19th and no real effects a little sore arm but nothing to cry about. I think they all are good very little side effects from any of them.

Hey FunStick. Keep us updated.  I had no vaccine and it (Covid) lasted about 10 days.  If it's short term discomfort consider yourself lucky.  Keep you in my prayers.

Hey Smithers, do you feel one of the vaccines would have helped with the Covid? After your experience would take a vaccine for something similar?

I'm lucky to have had it and survived.  Now, knowing what I went through, I don't think any vaccine is going to make much of a difference for me.  Nobody really knows how long natural immunity lasts. The experts don't really know either though some of them claim that natural immunity  lasts for 3, 6 or maybe 9 months. But they don't really know. It could be lifetime immunity.  I'm banking on my natural immunity and waiting to see how the vaccine plays out for the next 10-12 months.  I would really like to see how much immunity I have, not just a positive/negative test.  If you find out how you can get a level of immunity test, I'd like to know. I'm on the lookout for it.

To tell you the truth, after I've had Covid (I'm in NYC) I rarely wear a mask.  Only out of respect for others do I put it on like on buses, trains & stores, otherwise. When I walk out on the streets I don't use a mask.  Besides, Covid masks don't protect you 100%.  Maybe I'm lucky but I'm sure I must've bumped into someone with carrying the virus while commuting in public transportation in NYC.  Or maybe most people in NYC have had it.  The Covid numbers (incidences, deaths) published are off by a lot.  When I had it, nobody recorded my infection because I wasn't permitted to a hospital since I wasn't at the point of death (although it was pretty bad enough for me to make a call to the hospital).  I'm sure there were thousands of people in my situation at that time.  So the Covid numbers are definitely off.

You should still get at least one shot of the vaccine, even if you've already had COVID:   Here's why:   https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/19/health/covid-vaccine-single-dose.html

.Dr. Krammer led another of the new studies, which showed that people who have had Covid-19 and received one dose of a vaccine experienced more severe side effects from the inoculation and had more antibodies compared with those who had not been infected before.

But one shot of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine significantly changed the picture: It amplified the amount of antibodies in their blood by a thousandfold — “a massive, massive boost,” said Andrew T. McGuire, an immunologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, who led the study.

Flush with antibodies, samples from all of the participants could neutralize not only B.1.351, but also the coronavirus that caused the SARS epidemic in 2003.

In fact, the antibodies seemed to perform better than those in people who had not had Covid and had received two doses of a vaccine. Multiple studies have suggested that the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are about five times less effective against the variant.

I actually believe in vaccines! I’ll be 64 in May. Growing up people with withered limbs from polio was a real thing. Measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough and a bunch of other diseases made a lot of people sick, killed some, blinded some and scared some. In my adult life we rarely hear of these diseases anymore I believe vaccines saved so many lives.

I sincerely hope no one has to suffer some of the ugly atrocities brought on by disease.

Cheers Everyone
Wayne
