Mike inspired me to think of what would be my greatest album ever, something I never get tired of listening to. As a musician myself I'm inspired by artists who push the limits of popular music specifically during their era but also stand the length of time. For myself that is Abbey Road by the Beatles, released in September 1969.

Here is a band literally tearing apart in the summer of 1969 and they come together once more to create an iconic album. You have two incredible song writers in Lennon & McCartney pushing out songs and probably the most under rated third in any band in Harrison with some of his greatest material in Something & Here Comes the Sun.

I dont know of any band that end their musical career together call it quits with a song called "The End"...Fours guys taking turns starting with a drum solo and a three-guitarist solo never heard before or since. As a guitarist myself I can appreciate hearing three distinct guitar styles, each taking their turn.

Even the dam album cover is iconic.

I love this album because he sang rock n roll, blues, country and ballads! It was his first album and the first rock record to ever hit the billboard charts!

Oh that's a tough one. Difficult also to rate them together as "great" and "something you never get tired of listening to", I guess I may need different rankings there. Anyway, for me it could be anything in universes vastly opposed, from Forever Changes by Love, to Synchestra by the Devin Townsend Band, would need to think a bit more about it. I guess I would probably end up with an album from one of the prog giants though, like Close to the Edge by Yes or Selling England by the Pound by Genesis... or with the Beatles too hehe.

Hard to choose just one album... Music depends on what mood one is in at the time...

My choices to take to a desert island would be, in no particular order...

Rendez Vous  - Jean Michel Jarre

Hup! - The Wonder Stuff

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds

Wonderland - Erasure

Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage - R.E.M.

Albums I can spin all day ???

#1  UFO - Strangers in the Night,  Arguably the best live album ever put out.   If you have never heard of them, start out with this album.   then move on to my #3 album of theirs.

#2  Zep -  Physical Graffiti -   Need I say more !!!

#3  White Album.  Tough between that and Abbey Road.  Im actually putting an Abbey Road jigsaw puzzle together I got for Christmas.  But the White Album offers, well, 2 lp's of fantastic songs.  One being an acid trip.

#4  UFO - Lights Out   -   I remember buying this album at Lazarus in downtown Columbus.  I had never heard of UFO and bought it because of the cover art.  Looked interesting.  Low and behold, it changed my world.  Great tunes, Great musicians and on top of that.  They sound fantastic live.  Which is why their live album is my number one.

#5  Grand Funk Railroad  -  Caught in the Act  -   Mark Farner and company !!!   Crazy ass funky band !!!!

As mentioned above. Too many to choose from.  But these I could play all day and sit around and play pool or euchre.  And drink some beer.  Have to add any Steely Dan lp's and Floyd to the mix also.   But my number 1 stands if I had to choose only one.

I have figured out if we all end up on a Island together we won't be bored

#5 Gave me faith that Hard Rock that chicks wanted to dance to was still around and by "Chicks" I mean Strippers

#4 See number 5

#3 Smoked a ton of weed listening to this with my first live in Girlfriend so the memories run deep

#2 The Hammer of the Gods and his Mates at their absolute best. They were as tight a band on this one as they would ever be

#1 Need I say more... Picked up more Pussy with this playing out of my cassette player in my car during High School then anything else
