lol Ya I used an RC car and thought I had time to run in behind Smithers who was sniping and stick a knife in his back but that didn't work.

 

Is there a 1-1 1/2 second of delay from when you are visible and when the other players can see you? Sure as heck seems like it.

I've played a little and I'll play more this week-end.

The one sec is too short really.
You lose 2 sec at the start of getting a car (on going bug, ok), and you have just on sec after the explosion (cause the last sec you're visible, it's not 2 sec!). 
So there is no need to collect 3 killstreaks and use it wisely when all your team is frozen. Or use a pred wisely when you know a guy is in a corner. And btw the guy in the corner got a trophees which cover several hits.

If you don't use it immediatly there is always a guy waiting and stealing your stuff. No more tactics stuff with several killstreaks u can use at the right moment. And if you have just one sec to appear after the first killstreak, You can't do nothin after that and you lost one killstreak with heist.

That ruins the tactics (but maybe people don't have tactics after all), that new stuff is only for people who don't move, sorry to say that but it's true. I don't undertsand why you want to reduce. Please put back the classic seconds.

Same can be said for campers, hiding in the back of their spawn behind clays & mines with the added protection of their fellow campers & continuously-respawning & invisible teammates for protection.  Yet It's not they whose perks & loadouts are getting nerfed.  Take away their clays, mines... make them weaker.. make them move more slowly when aiming.  If you had told them to choose wisely, then none of this would need discussion.  They have equal access to the cars & perks like everyone else, yet they don't want combat medic & lightweight, because it does them no good when they plan on hiding.  So to be equitable, nerf some of their abilities & see how that grabs them.

This shorter time sure has killed my ability to get behind the team and wreak havoc.  It has also kept me from being able to move from where I was seen changing to a car which leaves me vunerable to enemy fire sooner without being able to defend myself because my gun doesn't come out as fast after re-spawning from a car.  The whole point in having more time after re-spawn is to have time to get into a position where I'm not compromised and can pull my gun out. 

Also, you might as well take out every map that allows you to get completely across it with combat medic since you are so worried about people being taken out from behind.  That perk in itself causes the very issue you are trying to "fix" on small maps.

 In summation, this new time limit sucks ass and is stupid, like a lot about this mod.

Yeah, there's a split second after you spawn that you cannot shoot. It's always been that way. I don't know if it's intentional or not. But ive noticed it for quite a while. Even in the previous mod. I would notice that trying to spawn in front of someone thinking you have the jump on them, then they just shoot you. Even though your already hitting fire.

If ya want to get technical, I bet you can't name a COD game that gives you Invisibility while using a low level kill streak + spawn protection (both while and after) you use said kill streak.  IMO it was a mistake to add "Invisible" Kill Streak spawn protection to freezetag mod in the 1st place. I'm ok with Spawn Protection but being invisible while using a kill streak should have never been implemented.

I did not think the shortened time was a good idea at first but after playing it seems ok. I would be in favor of either way. The protection after kill streaks was (and still is somewhat) very powerful. You could chain multiple kill streaks together and get anywhere on the map you wanted without any way to stop you. 

Pootie demonstrated the power of this with his 3 cars he always takes into overtime. He is probably one of the best strategic players in overtime because of the way he chain streaks together and uses them to locate everyone. Often he has thaw cars (that apparently don't blow up instantly like the attack version) running around just to scout in overtime. 

My two cents for problems:
Like Sharpe said, when turning into cars you often die on a completely black frame. It is just too slow.
As Sikon mentioned spawn protection has a few frames or something where you cannot shoot (even though you are visible). Took me many deaths to figure out that I was just dumb trying to shoot too quick out of spawn protection. 
If campers need to be nerfed then you can always bring back 'old' stealth where we can go through clays while running. I still don't think stealth has much of a use currently (BTW Hardwired is the perk to use to block EMP blindness)

lol WHAT? REALLY? No Armor Piercing perk? How? Ummmmmmmm.

Don't forget the Promod configs that you downloaded. Which retired pro promod gamers config are you running now? H2k EmiZ<3qLi or H2k qLimAxzU19 ?

 

Only people small balls and no talent need to use that shit. If you gota use special configs and key binds to play an old ass game like COD4 maybe it's time you move on to some other game?

Okay so I played a few hours yesterday and definitely noticed a difference and I definitely don't like the change. And it seems I'm not the only one. This thread alone has multiple people saying they don't like it. And there were others (who haven't posted here) who were also expressing their displeasure in the chat.

As many have alluded to, it makes it awfully difficult to survive AFTER coming out of respawn. I died every damn time after I was a car.

This is a very good point. Often, when an enemy turns into a car, will be passed on so the team knows that there will be an enemy appearing in that location after the car explodes or timer runs out. The smart players know damn well that they are getting intel'd, so they use that 5 seconds to get the hell out of there to not be ambushed and have time to have their weapon ready to fire before they get shot. That's now gone. The ability to play smartly and use tactics is being diminished or even removed in favour of players who want to sit and camp.

I love how you make it seem so simple. Try running across the map to find a safe place to hide before turning into a car. Odds are you'll get shot before you get there. And then you'll have your killstreak stolen by someone with the heist perk. Do you know how you get to a safe place without getting killed? SPAWN PROTECTION!!!:w00t:

I don't know how many times I've run into enemy spawn and died just to defrost a teammate. It's the most unselfish thing you can do in the game. I'm not looking for a pat on the back or anything, but I sure as shit don't want to have that ability nerfed. 

Bottomline for me: the players who play a smart, tactical game, defrost teammates, and play as a team are being told to adapt and change to accommodate players who want to hide somewhere safe and camp. I just don't get it.:question:

Since my first post, I've seen multiple people say they don't like the change, heard others in-game say they don't like it at all, then some who don't think it's a big deal either way, and only a few who think it's a good idea. Oh and Basil, who has accepted her position as subordinate to the almighty admins and is happy as long as everyone is nice and she has her wine.:wine:

I'm down for a compromise here and think having 4 seconds would be a good middle ground.
