I'm really starting to hate these changes.  They changed my firefox look and now I can't look at the internet without it looking like my toolbar is something out of the future!

Looks like Microsoft will be killing off older computers with windows 11, will require UEFI, Secure Boot, TPM 2.0 and direct x 12 graphics support.

I have several friends running older systems that only have DX11 cards or older laptops that are still good for web surfing that won't be upgrading to Win 11.

Yep looking at what has been released so far they are definitely pushing security and privacy - certainly some systems won't be compatible but ah well

There is nothing really special about W11. I mean a few people are saying its like W8 all over again compared to W7. DX12 minimum requirement I cant see lasting too long.

The only plus I seen from it was in regards to Android apps on PC, that would be due to Microsoft's failure with its UWP they tried to push for years. Then again I am sure a majority of people don't want to see android apps on PC since they are available next to them on their phones. They mention security a lot well but sure they would need extra security if they are allowing android apps to run on W11.

W11 isn't my cup of tea, the same way W10 was but I was had to install it as my main OS due to CPU compatibility issues with older OS's.

Yeah it does look like nothing 'ground breaking' - mainly skin/theme and usability changes. The core of the OS is exactly the same as W10. There is no change to the enterprise management or tooling etc.

Either way - I will get the Beta next week and have a play with it!

Here is a list of Intel processors that will run Windows 11

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

“Devices that do not meet the hard floor cannot be upgraded to Windows 11, and devices that meet the soft floor will receive a notification that upgrade is not advised."

hard floor- complete system requirement

soft floor- TPM 2.0, cpu generation.

Microsoft revealed Windows 11 today and as you may or may not already know, you need TPM to run Windows 11 at least for the Insider Build(s) - We do not know if this is a requirement for the full release yet.

We've seen questions coming up asking if you need to buy a TPM module to use Windows 11. Good news, on recent AMD and Intel boards (with a recent BIOS) you can enable a function called fTPM or PTT. fTPM stands for Firmware Trusted Platform Module and PTT for Platform Trust Technology and is build in in recent AMD and Intel Processors.

Update 1:

However, according to Microsoft and this list, this tweet and this post you need at least an AMD Zen+ or newer or a Intel 8th. Gen. or newer CPU to run Win 11 but the lists of supported CPUs are expected to evolve over time

AMD

If you are using an AMD platform:

According to Microsoft and this list, this tweet and this post you need at least an AMD Zen+ or newer CPU to run Win 11 but the lists of supported CPUs are expected to evolve over time

To enable fTPM on your ASRock AMD Board go into BIOS and make sure you are in Advanced Mode. Many Boards have it enabled by default if not, press F7. Now go to:

BIOS > Advanced > CPU Configuration > AMD fTPM Switch > AMD CPU fTPMSave via F10

Intel

If you are using an Intel platform:

According to Microsoft and this list, this tweet and this post you need at least an Intel 8th. Gen. or newer CPU to run Win 11 but the lists of supported CPUs are expected to evolve over time

BIOS > Security > Intel Platform Trust Technology > EnabledSave via F10

If you are using an older CPU/Motherboard than you need a discrete TPM Module. These are generally pretty cheap (around 10 bucks) but make sure your motherboard has a TPM Header - You can check that by taking a look into the manual!

Information

If you are not sure why your PC isn't able to run Windows 11, you can use the tool called WhyNotWin11 from user u/rcmaehl

It can be downloaded here

There are some workarounds for this. Check https://allthings.how/how-to-fix-this-pc-cant-run-windows-11-error/

Some good information from the mods and users over at r/Windows11

CPU Compatibility: A Brief Explanation (99.99% of all CPUs should run Windows 11 )

Posts regarding TPM in the context of Windows 11 will be closed and redirected to this post. If you have a specific question, please use this post here! Thank you!

hope will stop spam and spoofing PC's

duc  below a UEFI BIOS are dead for no support hard or soft.  UEFI BIOS above can do soft or hard, just need to check Bios of support for software called fTPM or PTT

BitLocker (Windows 10) - Microsoft 365 Security | Microsoft Docs

TPM is used with windows bitlocker

BitLocker provides the most protection when used with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 1.2 or later. The TPM is a hardware component installed in many newer computers by the computer manufacturers. It works with BitLocker to help protect user data and to ensure that a computer has not been tampered with while the system was offline.

On computers that do not have a TPM version 1.2 or later, you can still use BitLocker to encrypt the Windows operating system drive. However, this implementation will require the user to insert a USB startup key to start the computer or resume from hibernation. Starting with Windows 8, you can use an operating system volume password to protect the operating system volume on a computer without TPM. Both options do not provide the pre-startup system integrity verification offered by BitLocker with a TPM.

In addition to the TPM, BitLocker offers the option to lock the normal startup process until the user supplies a personal identification number (PIN) or inserts a removable device, such as a USB flash drive, that contains a startup key. These additional security measures provide multifactor authentication and assurance that the computer will not start or resume from hibernation until the correct PIN or startup key is presented.

other may still work if not have TPM chip just loss that surcurity function of win11 have to wait and see
