Hmmm, the walmart tech must have a cousin working at delta sonic car wash in NY. My kid went for the oil change and  customary check of all fluids. Left radiator overflow bottle cap loose and the car overheated so I had to service and bleed out all the air in system. Some times its just better to do it yourself so you know its done right I guess.

It's basically them cleaning the injectors & the top end of the engine; not really flushing it.  It was raining the whole day I drove around with the oil-fill cap riding shotgun at the bottom of my windshield.

$450 for a fukkin' alternator is what floored me; just glad I'm not paying for it.  The Wal Mart insurance adjuster contacted me within 2 or 3 days, informing me she was cutting a check & apologized for the mishap.

OMG what a nightmare. it seems nobody gives a fuck anymore and misses details. Once had a rad flush and rad was not refilled, that was fun. I get scared when they rotate wheels I have to check the nuts to make sure they put them all on and tightened them. Now I will check oil cap to add to my list.

I left the oil fill cap off once and drove 50 feet and sounded like my engine was done for!  Opened hood and was like happy that nothing was wrong except the cap needed to go back on.

The oil pressure light did not come on, so more likely is that there isn't any damage.  When drained, there was remarkably still 2 quarts in it.  That's after driving it all day.

Hard to find a good shop anymore. Last time I got new tires the tech broke 2 studs off. Was too close to quitting time, was told to return the next day in the morning. On the way home 6 more studs broke off. Decided to fix myself, did not want them touching my truck anymore. Returned the next day and told them what happened, said that they were embarrassed. Refunded money for parts and labor and got mounting, balancing and rotations for life, means nothing because I won’t be returning.

There are lots of shortages from the pandemic, except for morons.

One of my first vehicles was a '64 Pontiac Catalina.  The engine oil was thick & gunky.  I flushed the engine with automatic transmission fluid, then took the top of the engine down to the cylinder head gasket; soaking all the components (pushrods, rocker arms, etc.) with solvent & cleaning them nice & shiny.  Reassembled according to my trusty Hanes or Chilton; torqued to spec, yada yada.  Drove it to the gas station to proudly fill up with gas & go for a fun day of cruising the country back roads.  As I arrived at the pump, the oil dumped & an impressive cloud of smoke issued forth, flowing along the ceiling of the pump canopy, curling up & along its edges; taking my day's aspirations with it.  Unbeknownst to me, the previous owner had used 5W20 because the oil pan gasket & other seals were shot.  Learned several lessons that day.  =D

shit son you got cheap oil over there every time I service my chevy it's between £70-80 about $100 just in the oil for the type of 5-W40 my car needs

and yeah we have the same problem over here can't find any good mechanics won't hire or train technicians I'd have fixed the alternator rather than bought a new one, new board core or motor sure no probs btw I've probably had my boss fire 4-5 apprentices over stuff like this now i double check the work they do and keep a score on the how many fuck ups board

Flushing causes all the sludge and so on to the oil pan, and stops up the the  Oil Pump pick up Screen ...
