EMD? CAT? I miss hearing Detroit 567's when the Burlington Route, Milwaukee Road, and Chicago Northwestern would mix & match cars outside our little town (Ladd, Illinois) when I was a kid. Cars would bang & clang all night, then they'd pull out after breakfast. All the routes are gone now, Railnet operates a short line that used to be BN's connection @ Zearing, leading to the Iowa Interstate (Rock Island Road) in Peru. They use a couple of GPs to move sand cars around, nothing like the heyday.
 Awards
