Rpm idle is typically around 400, max rpm at full throttle is 1050

Playing with very large displacements, no substitute for cubic inches. EMD? CAT? I miss hearing Detroit 567's when the Burlington Route, Milwaukee Road, and Chicago Northwestern would mix & match cars outside our little town (Ladd, Illinois) when I was a kid. Cars would bang & clang all night, then they'd pull out after breakfast. All the routes are gone now, Railnet operates a short line that used to be BN's connection @ Zearing, leading to the Iowa Interstate (Rock Island Road) in Peru. They use a couple of GPs to move sand cars around, nothing like the heyday.

he wants to over speed derailment with PTC or a head-on.

LOL no the PTC was malfunctioning and we kept stopping for no reason. It's bad enough we hit a car in Florida on Sunday and killed the driver.

We have to load test them when we are done with repairs,  they have a self load test switch on them
