Says it is "a federal holiday". How come I don't get it off? I ordered a chicken and an egg online. I'll let you know. That would have been Leif Erikson, about 500 years earlier, around the year 1,000; if we're going by notable first European/Westerner. Recently discovered footprints push back first continental settlement from ~16,000 years ago to ~23,000 years in the past*. And being we're all human, it's really a moot point.
