Shame, but to be accurate, he had a bunch of other issues as well.

Yes and he had been vaccinated.   Interesting to see when he got his shots.

Flew General Powell once when I was in support of the Hurricane Andrew relief back in 1992.  Busy man, but took time to briefly to talk to us, the crew, and ask how things were going.  Best General we have had in a long time.  RIP Sir.

I really liked him, admired him, thought he was great for the country.... then he did the whole vial show and dance at the United Nations saying Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, here is a sample of it,  ergo the USA was justified to invade that country, etc etc etc.  I think that he was forced to do that pissed him off so much that is why he quit/retired.  "We" believed him, if he says it is so, then it is, "we" figured...   4 trillion dollars later of federal debt and how many soldiers dead and wounded and PTSD'd etc.  and for what?  2 cents    (Right or Wrong, whatever politics and whatnot, but for him to have to basically lie to the United Nations/ all of us, that was unacceptable.)  The truth matters, whatever it may be.   So that is his legacy.  May he rest in peace, and bless his heart.

Saddam Hussain did indeed did have those weapons and used them against the Kurds time and time again...Today those same weapons have been used in Syria and once again against the Kurds...Even with that being said we should have never invaded Iraq period because the entire region is a ticking timebomb...The Kurds moto is (Only the Mountains are Our Friends)

Colin Powell was kept out of all the important discussions about Iraq. As we came to later learn. He was given all the *data* and told to go to the UN. Some true some not. As a soldier he followed the orders of his commander in chief. The man himself said he suspected there were ulterior motives around but he did the job he was asked to do. And yes, soon left in disgust.

In any case, may he RIP.
