My dad has been a cop for many years. Retired from it at the moment. And unfortunately even here in our small town there were some cops that believe they are always above the law. And there are some who take their job very serious to protect and serve. I wish there was a better system for this but no one knows how anyone is going to react under certain circumstances. You could have a level head. Talk about it all you want and do many exercises for when the time comes but once put in a real situation is a very different aspect. Sad. But (my personal opinion only) I think the media hypes up way too many situations and leaves out the good as well.

After 30 years on the job (including SWAT and being an instructor), I can tell you that this was a bad shoot for sure. Yeah, the guy was armed with a knife (as stated in the video), but he was NOT attacking the officers nor citizens. He was simply refusing commands to not enter the store. That is NOT cause to be shot in this specific incident. Personally, I have never experienced bad, corrupt cops over my time (thankfully) ... but they exist.

Based upon the information provided and the video, the cop that shot the suspect should be arrested, charged and subsequently fired for sure.

By the way, the idiot that created the YouTube video misspelled "SHOPLIFTING". Just a note. It matters WHO creates and presents such digital media (as it has been pointed out that the media creates and presents certain false issues these days).

Trying to say youtube is a credible source of information would be like trying to tell your english teacher that wiki is a legitimate source to quote from and cite in an essay.
