I may be an old soul from another generation and have a habit of listening to old radio shows in the car or while working.  We have a retirement village in the Cincinnati area with their own radio station that I volunteer at from time to time. They also broadcast online and play a lot of old shows and music from yesteryear.

WMKV -  https://wmkvfm.org/

Started downloading a lot of the shows since they are public domain also:

Here's a few sites that stream the shows, if you're into this sort of stuff:

Must be something about getting old. I find myself watching a couple episodes of Leave it to Beaver every morning just to remember how things were way back then lol. It was so different from today.

Ya mean you dont have to use the tin foil on the antenna?  Ive been eyeing up some of those old big radios. Used to have one an old neighbor gave me a longtime ago with am , fm, and shortwave. Sound was unreal. Wish I never got rid of it.

I grew up in California in the mid 1970's and split my time between both Southern and Northern Ca so I got to hear some of the best DJ's and Music going while growing up. I have also found some old shows on different platforms recently and listen to them thru my phone using my Bluetooth connection while I drive and even if there is a Commercial it is one that brings back fond memories. Check out this site as well. I found out last week that one of the DJ's I loved has been doing top level Voice Over Work for decades so he has stayed in my life for close to 50 years

Ah the days when KSJO was a rock station. I remember those morning shows from back in school.

The closest I get to old radio programs is my annual viewing of the BEST Christmas movie ever, A Christmas Story. For those that don't know, it was written and narrated by Jean "Shep" Shepherd, a famous radio and TV personality from the 40s and 50s who, funny enough, got his start in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The whole movie plays out like a radio show with so many great scenes that hit you right in the nostalgia muscle. Here's one of my faves..

"It's a Clinkerrrrr!!!!"

"In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obscenity that, as far as we know, is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan"

Classic...😂

Here's the original radio show for anyone interested....

Where i live in the The UK is where the television was first transmitted by John Logie Baird

"Meanwhile, Scottish engineer John Baird gave the world's first demonstration of true television before 50 scientists in central London in 1927. With his new invention, Baird formed the Baird Television Development Company, and in 1928 it achieved the first transatlantic television transmission between London and New York and the first transmission to a ship in mid-Atlantic. Baird is also credited with giving the first demonstration of both color and stereoscopic television.
