I get this error when the map loads. I deleted the map folder and re-downloaded it. No change. Any ideas?

I tried it and no issues for me either.  Hey @Sammy what does the exceeded limit of 1000 'xmodel' assets indicate?

Too many image/material files are being presented/read...Could be something in his config.cfg or config_mp.cfg file that needs adjusted...I would say server side but it works fine for others...Similar but different in Cod2 it is scripted to use by default 160mb's and needs to use 512mb's for some maps to work client side

some cod ppl posted these....sometimes with an older map to a newer mod

This means basically exactly what it says. Too many xmodel assets

this error cannot be 'solved', there are maps that cannot be run. This is a problem with all large mods and the only 'solution' is to not play on that map with the mod.

UPDATE FIX:

in commandline server startup put this command: +set r_xassetnum "xmodel=1200"

Work without any problem.

some ppl will get this error and some will not,,!!

xasset and xmodel in the command line is for cod4x only.

As for the issue. Between the game files, mod files, and map files there are too many unique models being loaded. If you havent already, delete the mod and redownload it then go from there.

I am also assuming your game files are all official and original.

New copy of windows. I originally installed from steam and didn't have the 1.7 version to drop in place of the steam 1.8 .exe and replaced it with cod4x, which I replaced with 1.7  .exe after I re-acquired it and deleted the cod4x. Since there could be something still lurking from that I'm going to uninstall it and reinstall from steam.
