Headed to the Brandau reunion for lunch. Two Rhubarb pies baked last night as requested. Picked way too much, so I froze a gallon bag for later. The Dudek family also requested several pounds of Rhubarb for their baking.

Patch has turned giant, should've split the crowns & started a new one earlier this spring. Tempted to harvest it all & do that, but scared it will turn dry soon.

Mom never had rhubarb, my grandparents & aunts all had patches on their farms, and it was always a treat at holidays. Was given several starts years ago, and it's turned into a monster of several varieties.

yes i remenber my first girlfriend had used apple pie to my heart " a man's stomuck is a way to his heart"  and every fall harvest time we had  rhubarb cup cakes for deserts

Dot 80 makes a killer apple pie, hasn't made one in years though, MMMM flaky crust, just like her mom used to make lol.

the spice of cinnamon and clover with honey and apple sauce was the filling with apple halves dusted with the spices , i remmenber watching her for want to know how she made it taste so good.
