Had weird belly ache not really accute for about a month, thought nothing of it really in till I could not get comfortable no matter what position I got in. So wake the wife up at 1 am to take me to the hospital where  drew blood  and found white count too high. Sooo after all the scans, a bad gall bladder was determined  and had it removed. Hospital claims to be breaking records for this procedure. So now on to recovery. Pain level way down but just felt a gross nauseation, lack of apatite, lost 10 lbs . So a month later its starting to ease a bit getting back to normal. According to doctors take it easy on greazzy foods and dairy but no real restrictions. I'm 66 and I thought this pain was a result of all blood pressure, A1C crap I was on.

Glad you finally caught it. Seems to be more common today - my son - 32- had his removed last year . My niece - 18 - had hers removed last month.  Get better soon.

Glad you're on the road to feeling better.  I wouldn't let them remove mine - I opted to stop eating fried foods, greasy foods, etc, and haven't had an attack since.  That was in 2014.  Sometimes it's the only solution - to have surgery - but I took at look at who was telling me it had to come out.  It was the gallbladder surgeon, who gets paid to remove gallbladders :D

I am same as you, I ended up in the hospital about 2 years ago with a bad attack, did ultra sounds and a battery of tests, came back with gallbladder full of sludge and stones. Changed eating habits and have not had an attack since, I can feel one building now if I have too much red meat or greasy stuff, so I will hit the water hard and it goes away. Dr said I will likely need it out eventually, I told her I will be keeping it for as long as possible lol
