Unlike AMD, the platform will be compatible with DDR4 AND DDR5, meaning you can save by not needing to buy a new mainboard or memory. It also means both Intel's & AMD's current offerings will be less expensive. Have read that Amazon is holding something like a second Prime day also around that time. So, just another few weeks. If you are planning for a brand-new system, take the AMD 7000 series with a AM5 motherboard (2025+ socket support for AM5). I suggest to wait on both for Intel and AMD; For AMD, the cheaper B series for AM5 comes out soon. Or next year, the 3D version of a 7000 series processor comes out. For Intel, if they come with the 14th Gen or not, for that socket. (The 13th Gen was planned to be the last one) Or else your motherboard will be EOL*, right away. (*EOL=End of Life) I just saw PCWorld today with the ECO turned on, 7950x, beating the 12the Gen and at lower energy costs. The 7950X is an awesome chip. The 7900X a nice all-rounder. Still have a AM4 socket? Take a 5800X3D one, right away! (415 USD).
 Awards

Wait until Raptor Lake releases is my point; as EVERYTHING will be cheaper as INTEL & AMD compete for market share, regardless of which manufacturer or socket one is considering.
