Fusion has always been the best answer to our energy problems.  Unlimited energy, zero emissions !!!   Well it seems there has been a big breakthrough in this area.  I doubt I will ever see it come to fruition in my lifetime, but maybe my gkids will.  Interesting stuff.

Yeah! All our problems solved, a new way to create heat...to boil water....to make steam...to turn turbines & dynamos developed in the 1800's....nope, too low tech. We gotta press on with our vision of making electricity from pixie glitter.

Well, Nikola Tesla developed a way to wirelessly transmit electricity in the early 1900's, look up Wardenclyffe Tower.  There is some excellent reading to be found online about it and the conspiracies involved.  To make it short... Edison, Westinghouse and J. P. Morgan set him up and when they saw that he was really making progress.... they pulled the plug and demanded their money, which of course he had used in good faith and was all gone.  They drove him into bankruptcy and he lost everything.  Wardenclyffe Tower was demolished and sold for scrap in 1917; Morgan, Edison and Westinghouse breathed a sigh of relief as the tower was gone and all records and experimentation as well: their fortunes , businesses and the power of their heavy hands were fully intact.

Clean sustainable energy would be nice. Read an official report on this "Breakthrough". They fired 7 high powered lazers at 2 Hydrogen atoms and got them to fuse together. The reaction from fusing Hydrogen atoms creates a strong current buildup around the containment vessel which is transferable through wires. Basically they super heated 2 atoms to a similar tempature of the core of our sun and the atoms fused.

Also read that it will be at very least 35 years until this technology can be refined and put into any sort of commercial use.

In the meantime China is currently building 14 more Coal fired power plants. LOL Bet all of these Climate Activists are in full on denial about that fact. Especially after some bonehead in Washington DC, sent billions of dollars to companies and organizations (which most are based in China) to research and develop clean energy. U.S. Climate Bill AKA "Inflation Reduction Act of 2022’’ has invested nearly $370 billion of our tax moneys over the next decade into this crap.

Nothing to see here, move along!  OK back to COD I go lol.

In the future, fusion can be the answer to interplanetary travel too.  Good stuff.

Nuclear fission produces electromagnetic waves too, just not the sort that are practical to harness. Fusion produces the one product we are familiar with, heat. Heat is fierce, violent, and carries great risk to utilize, but we've had centuries of experience with it.

I'm comfortable with a new heat source, sure beats kitten kisses, warlock wands, & angel dreams for actual power production.

And when Tesla died the Government went to his Hotel Room he had lived in for years and boxed up all of his research papers and everything they could find and took it never to be seen by the public again. Who knows what we have today like wireless cell phone charging etc that is because of his understanding of the energy our planet produces by itself. Many people don't even know about the Van Allen Belt or think about all the electricity around us every day unless they see lightning or have static on their clothes. We learn more about physics every day like the fact that light is both a particle and a wave, go figure. But the success of the experiment was that it was the first time they created a net energy gain meaning we got more from it then we used to get the reaction. Fusion has zero radioactive waste and is the same process used by our sun and every other star. The times they are a changin for the times they are a changin. And at almost light speed now compared to when we were kids

My kid just came back from Iceland, told me most of their energy for heat comes from geo thermal which is free from mother earth and is also used to make electricity which is extremely cheap there.
