Well, let me correct you on one point here. The player is not disrupting the server, all the people who don't like that they are getting their asses kicked are disrupting the server by calling the player a hack, a cheater, making comments about how he doesn't exist in the server and the #2 player is actually the winner. Then half of them decide to leave because they just can't fathom how anyone could be so much better than they are and simply must be cheating. Then they start berating the Admin team for not doing anything about the fact that there's someone in the server that's way better than they are. This isn't about "the player". All they want to do is play. No, this is about all the >XI< rule violations that members and guests commit in the presence of someone better than they are. Good players get banned while people breaking >XI< rules have no consequence at all. In the end, that's what this is about, as I see it.

I've played here a very long time. I have seen some very good players come and go but at the end of the day they make me a better player cuz it makes me want to beat them.... I suck at the games but I play 4 fun not for the BS ... Hell I get told I hack and all I can say is check my score and get back to me on that

Same here my KDR is ridiculous sometimes. Meaning I die more than I kill But I like to throw grenades alot. And it depends on whether I focus on the game at hand too. So I rarely post anything on the forums but this sort of thread caught my eye. I've played COD since United Offensive days when I was just 12 years old or so shooters aren't anything new to me. Been in 3 clans, XI being the 3rd, and I have seen this issue within all three. All I can say is banning good players has never turned out good for any of the servers I have played in. One server on COD4, cMs, banned all its "good players" and within months that server tanked and is no longer around; I got caught in that ban. I have been called a hacker so many times i've lost track; that was back in my competitive days. I still get called a cheater here and there but now its because I knife everyone and they can't understand how I knifed them lmao. I don't go out of my way trying to dominate every game, sure I lead a lot but I get a buttload of deaths and have a pretty dismal kdr overall on the server compared to those that bust their asses trying to get top spot. These good players have to realize that no one cares if they are number one, its cool but like its nothing to brag about. We are all here to have fun in the game, I bunnyhop and knife. Its awesome seeing other players who rarely win get that number one spot in the game. If you dominate every game, we already know you're good, or either a hacker but they rarely last that long here, so you don't have to show off to prove something to us cause its simply annoying seeing you try so hard(at least it is for me). I don't care what my score is anymore, and with a game as old as WaW, these good players shouldn't either because the competition is LOOOOOONG gone. Most servers in this game are just a buncha idiots wanting to have a good time with each other. These "good players" need to just tone it down and not try to get 5.0 kdr every single map. Banning them for being good doesn't look good at all and is pretty unjust considering they aren't violating any rules...which in doing so will definitely cause some split within the clan because it appears that that is so just from this discussion. But they need to just tone it down some and play for fun and enjoy the idiots in here. We already know who is "good" so there is nothing to prove

World Class Players ? I am not sure I understand whom they may be at all...At the end of the day we are here for fun,However there are more then a few dozen advantages one could grant themselves and it starts with ping and as a Admin we know how far it can go (or could).... There are plenty of "Pro" configs out there to grab (some considered cheats) and with new graphic cards and the tools they come with there will be over reach by the "I must win every round people" and with that throw in working the maps (spawn points) and I would say a good Pc but some games that dont matter (example Cod2 seta com_hunkMegs "512")...Winning ever round doesnt make you a winner...Playing fair and having fun does Hackers/cheaters get caught in the end so if that is your choice you will be found sooner or later and everything you have invested here with friends etc will be lost for what to come in 1st have the best K/D or what ever your tickle is...I would rather lose every game and keep my friends and in the mean time eyes will be on you ?

NO, the people that accuse others of hacking, cheating, spawn camping, spawn killing, whatever else they complain about are the problem. They need to be dealt with. They are the shit bucket agitators that cant understand that maybe, just maybe someone else is better at the game than they are. They ruin the gaming experience for everyone in the server at that time.

Then make all XI servers and forums private for members only. People come to your servers by way of word of mouth, what they read in threads on non gaming sites and gaming sites. Xi has an awesome reputation in communities of several kinds that is being tarnished by banning innocent players just because of their skill level. People read what is typed by members here. Most of it is not that great. It turns people away. There is no freedom of speech here, really. Someone gets mad and post how they feel and they get wrote up for attacking. The very person they were mad at has posted similar and yet gets away with it. Everyone should be treated equal. Doesn't matter what your rank is. We are all human beings at the end of the day!!

As you know this occurred recently but as you asked heres my penny's worth I personally come to enjoy myself, and that means exactly that, running around with your friends, laughing and chatting, teasing each other and that is why you join a clan, otherwise no point. There is no fun at all in lasting a nanosecond after you spawn, being tubed to death etc etc, so no point in playing, no fun, why be in a clan?? There unfortunately is no other way to tell if people are cheating other than a lot of time and effort by the admins, but there is also little doubt that some people do, however they do it. Every normal player has good and bad days, but players that are highly 'skilled' to the point they are untouchable ruin the game for the ordinary players, and they leave, that is proved beyond doubt. You get in this clan because you fit in, we have some astounding players who I have never considered cheaters, far better than me, but I can still kill them and occasionally get near their score. BUT I don't care what you say the 'highly skilled' players are impossible to play with, so I personally leave, if I left often enough so that it isn't worth playing then what is the point of being in XI ?? It is a very difficult thing, but in it's simplest term if the ordinary 'Joe' cannot play without enjoyment, then he won't play, yes I am sorry for them but they have no place in a clan like this - full stop. And stop before you start Angelz lol.

So what you are basically saying is, if someone is better than me I can report them and get them banned because I feel insecure that Im not good at a video game? Asking someone to tone is down is literally horseshit. They are having fun and if someone cant accept they are getting their asses handed to them, then they dont need to play. I can think of over 10 people on insurgency who go 70+ kills every match they play, but people dont care. They accept it and move on. People complain and that is the way of life. It does make us look bad. It makes us look like a bunch of noobs that can't accept when someones better than they are. How do you fix it? Tell everyone to stop bitching about a player that knows how to play the game. If someone is abusing or hacking, sure. But if they are generally better the population, tell the people with complaints to fuck off and play. Its a video game, not a real life situation.

To help ya all . We do not ban people because there to good. What happens is the regular players just get so fustrated . They start to complain and in a short time the server looks like this post. We talk with the player who is now distrupting the server every time they play. We ask them to tone it down ECT. ECT. So after all that if thing work out all's well if not we do the ban thing. They appeal now everybody gets a say in the ban . And it's ussually ban stays. What it comes down to is XI members and regular players injoyment worth more then one player. The big downside is XI does look really bad to the gaming comunity. Some things to consider . We do have rules and we are breaking them by doing this. We do not attack or harras players for player style. That's a bit two faced to be honest. Our admins are suppose to inforce that rule but because its to be inforced on XI members or they agree with the members they do not. That is what this is about. How does one fix it.

I don't know how many DIMMS of RAM you have in the MOBO. You could try removing all but one and try to replicate the problem. At least that could eliminate the RAM as an issue. I had random bsod and crash/reboots and it turned out to be a faulty DIMM. If you think it might be a driver issue you could use system restore to put things back to a time before the problem occured.

Okay ....I have to come clean on this one because I have been holding onto this guilt for way to long.....I guess you could call this tale ....don't drink and drive .... It was one weekend in May and me an Elmo were just hanging out,killing time and bored......and.....Mt. Dew had just come out with a new flavor...can't remember the name, maybe "Mango Madness" ....something like that. needless to say,since we were both Dew fanatics we had to try it, so we bought like 12 bottles each of the stuff, not intending on going on a binge..... 2 hours later....and 6 bottle each, downed,new flavor? AWESOME !! ...we were tweeking hard. After chasing around the neighbors pig with a super soaker just to hear it squel (like a pig)and firing paint ball rounds at each others gut at ten paces(best 3 out of five)the loser usually ends up puking his guts out ...hehe Elmo spotted a skateboard and an old ski rope and with a smile on his face and a glint in his eye,he asked me,"are you thinking what I'm thinking?".....and in unison we yelled " road ski " or as we call it ROADSKI !! If you don't know what this is,it's simple, you hook up a rope to the trailer hitch on your vehicle ,normally a pick up truck but not always but in this case....Pick up....and you get pulled down the street on the skateboard.Anyway we flipped a coin and Elmo won and chose to go first.Now the pick up has a high tailgate, so I told Elmo to give me a wave to start and one to finish because I could only see his hand... i was still tweeking on the Dew pretty good and I wanted to give Elmo the ride of his life....I was psyched !! maybe too much....I saw his hand appear and heard him go" let er rip !!! " I hit the gas and was off...I looked at the side mirrors and couldn't see him but I heard him screaming but the thing with Elmo, is that it's hard to distinguish between his screams of joy and terror......I thought he was having the time of his life but what I thought were screams of sheer excitement was that of sheer terror.Somehow the rope got wrapped around his arm and when he couldn't stay on the skateboard anymore.....I must have dragged him for about 100 yards I only stopped because I looked down at the speedometer and it was reading 35 mph and I didn't hear him at all....I slowed to a stop and still heard nothing so I got out and went behind the truck.... OMFG !! Elmo was laying there trying to move his broken body but he couldn't even lift his head,a trail of blood down the street but what made it worse was that I couldn't locate the bleeding to try and stop it because.... he's freaking red all over !! ....as I was holding his body in my arms ,feeling like a puppet with no bones in his body....just a rag doll ....as he tried to speak,only a broken whisper escaped his lips...okay, he has no lips but you get the picture....he said"this is going to hurt way more tomorrow",he had a smile on his face...well a really broken smile ,not realizing the extent of his injuries...he died in my arms...I looked to the sky and cried "NOOOOOOO DON'T GO ELMOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! To this day it weighs heavily on me. The pain and guilt was just too much for me to carry hidden deep inside,for so long, I had to get it out. It will take many years still, to get over it and maybe one day forgive myself....but, I still had him stuffed,that part is the same so we can remain best buds forever !!! rock on in the great big gig in the sky my friend.... going to agree with this one. banning someone because they are better than other's is a #1 way to have the community known for being childish. I get my ass kicked on Insurgency by @Daemon and @Crus4de quite often. But I were to ban one of them they could easily take it to other servers, the news would spread, and then we'd have a problem. get good at the game, accept defeat and be graceful, or cry like a beach. simple as that.

Having been banned in my previous gaming life from numerous COD2 CTF servers - including being kicked out of, at the time, a major COD2 clan - for being too good (aka "cheating"), I have some personal opinions on this. Guess where I ended up? Here - playing on XI COD2 CTF servers where most of the other players were also "too good" - haha. I do not support banning players for simply being "too good." However, that's just my personal opinion. My admin opinion: In a lot of our games, there are programs in place to mitigate cheats. COD4 does not have these types of programs anymore, so it is a challenge to automagically catch people using "hacks." Our only recourse is lots of spectating and the help of the OTHER CLAN MEMBERS to help police and provide evidence. There are a handful of people that I hear complaints about regularly. I have spent time watching all of those players and have played several hours against and with them. I have yet to see any evidence of cheating in the form of using an actual "hack" like an aimbot or wallhack. What I have seen - and see regularly - is that it appears some players are intentionally lowering their video settings or using configs to remove foliage, and I think this is perhaps our biggest issue in the COD4 servers right now. It renders large, sniper-ish maps with lots of foliage essentially useless as maps. We won't ever get people to stop complaining about other people who are better than them. That's part of the human condition. All we can do is be reasonable and apply logic to our decisions. If it's in the best interests of the server to eliminate a player because they 1) play on the server super frequently, and 2) cause a majority of other players to leave the server, then yes - I do think we should do something about it. We have attempted in the past -with marginal success - approaching the player and asking them to "tone it down." I personally hate this, but "it is what it is." When that doesn't work, people have been banned in the past. If I recall, at least two players come to mind who were banned for "being too good," so to speak. In general if there is consensus on banning someone, I am supportive of it as in the best interests of the gaming community. I mean out of 12 years I've been here, that's not a bad track record. The clan should be given some credit for running COD servers that have been regularly populated for over a decade with minimal headaches to the player population. I think sometimes people need to take their blinders off and look at the big picture.

Hmm, this will be the only post I write here but I will say I can understand the anger certain play styles can cause and Im sorry if my play style annoys certain people. I don't always go all out when I play so that players can also have their fun but please understand that when I am called hacker, scumbag and the endless list of immature insults certain players and members of XI say to me, it only makes me want to play better against you. The majority of the people I see on these servers seem like really nice people and the servers are fun to play on and as you know there are not many active servers left on this game. Surely if someone is playing better than you it makes you want to beat them, I don't understand why it has to go straight to hes hacking etc.. it's just immature. When I have played and there has been a player doing better than me it's always great fun to try to get a higher score than them it's what makes you better at the game. I am always happy to provide recordings of my games if people want to see them so that they can see Im not cheating and as for this config and settings tweak I am just playing with everything at it's lowest setting to remove unnecessary blur effects and to boost fps.

Shoot we've already banned someone for being a good player. Probably scaring all the other good players out there in trying to come on and just have fun.
