I usually do not post much but believe this was important for me to say. It's been a rough year for the world and I'm sure it's been equally tough for many at XI. However, my year has brought my family and I many challenges beyond the obvious and I wanted to thank XI and all the members I encounter for giving me a respite. On any given day I can turn on this old PC start that old game CoD4 and connect with people in a way I can't anywhere else. I talk to people from all over the world and enjoy their company virtually which allows me to forget about everything else for just an hour or two. Though we physically never met, have different views and opinions I feel like I can call you friend. I'm sure there are many of you who feel the same way. Thank you XI members, guests and everyone who keeps the games running and this clan viable.

The wife and her sister went to er brothers summer place for a few days. Before she left she cut and peeled a bunch of apples for apple crisp Mmm. I took those peels and cores and cut up 5 pounds of apples to make apple Jelly. I like doing this kind of stuff when she leaves. That way I have no one around to tell me HOW WRONG I’M DOING IT LOL. I cooked the apples down with water and a tablespoon of cinnamon and strained them through cheese cloth. I gathered 10 cups of nice apple juice. Added 9.5 cups of sugar, 3 table spoons of lemon juice and boiled that down until I had a temp of 220F. I was able to fill five 500ml mason jars. I then put the bottles in a 10 minute water bath. Sadly one of my bottles broke,I ended up with 4 bottles. This is my first time doing this but it looks pretty good. Taste test tomorrow, can’t wait.

@Timmah! @RobMc @Hunter1948 here is the Apple Jelly taste test. My bread is on it’s second raise but I couldn’t wait that long to taste the jelly. These videos I mostly make for all me relatives. I always say “I don’t deserve it” the story behind “ I don’t deserve it” my mom’s father always said that when he was given a treat of some sort. He was French and always said “ah, ah, ah, ah I don’t deserve it” both my mom’s parents lived into their mid 90’s. I’ll include a picture of my bread doe.

Sometimes I think there should be a basic competency test before being allowed to reproduce. Sadly, tragic stories of child neglect & abuse are so ubiquitous here that it doesn't even make a blip on the radar. That the term 'my baby daddy' is even a thing is troubling. Hey!! @WeednFeed let's see a video recording of this taste test of yours! Maybe even send out some samples! I think it'd be fun for people to make a short clip of any hobby or activity they enjoy. I'm going to make a quick jaunt ~40 miles up the road to Louisville to buy a couple glass carboys - I could use plastic buckets, but you can't see the progress - & some other items to restore & upgrade my old beer making kit. Got this living room I don't even use & some Winter Wheat beer & indoor horticulture is in the offing. (Sorry for the hijack) Lets do see some jam tasting vid. Shit, I'd've liked to have seen a vid of you making the jam. It's cool to have a look at what people like to do.

No pectin, everything I read and watched says apples have plenty of pectin if you boil them to 220 F. The syrup was jelling while I was bottling it. And it jelled on the pot and ladles. I’m making bread in the morning I’ll to a taste test.

When the toilet paper started disappearing in my city I was at Canadian Tire and they had 3 isles of it. I purchased 3 bags of 48 rolls for my house and my 2 married daughters. I asked my son to go over and get an extra bag the next morning just for back up and all those bags were gone. No more toilet paper of any kind left. When the toilet paper was finally re-stalked a few months later my son went to Canadian Tire to get some other stuff and he heard a man at the return counter arguing because he was trying to return a shit load of toilet paper he purchased when it was a war to find it. The girl said well maybe next time try not to purchase so much and learn to share. LOL I don't know why people go into panic mode and buy up toilet paper, facial tissue etc, it's so dumb. The bag of 48 rolls I got lasted me until they re-stalked the shelves. I purchased a case of 50 boxes of facial tissues from Amazon the same day and I still have a bunch left now. I have 2 pantries, stand up freezer and a fridge w/freezer and only when I hear of a major snow storm coming that may or may not close my city do I stalk up on extra food and water.

Wow now I'm really hungry.

Same here in my place even if we have huge paper factories in our province , people react in a strange way , seems like they donno that you can use a wet rag to wipe your ass like old time or lots of country in actual time.

Why would you think 'only use it for cooking'? Many of my hobbies revolve around pleasing the senses. Fragrances to wear for myself & others' enjoyment. Some nice incenses like Nag Champa, Chandan incenses. The occasional essential oil in a a diffuser. The Sandalwood & YlangYlang is a nice one. Gustatorily, there is my cooking. (one gets to enjoy the fruits of their efforts forthwith), Nice Bourbons. They're mainly for sipping, although I have used them for cooking here & there. Audio would be my Classic Rock collection. Visual would be mainly outdoors in quietude, immersed in the environment. Fishing, Disc Golf, hiking. So, i.e.: Light some incense, play some good music like Floyd or Zeppelin, or Stevie Ray Vaughan, prepare a nice meal, sip some bourbon as an aperitif, peruse the Roku, Spectrum, Amazon Prime Video offerings... or watch one of the John Wicks again. Maybe take a relaxing bath. In other words, it's nice to simultaneously indulge all the senses. Nothing like smoking some good weed & listening to The Wall or DSOTM or Zeppelin or some live SRV performances posted on Youtube. Especially that Floyd - an entire album (as it's meant to be experienced)- in complete darkness, with a mild headchange... it's an experience like few others. Take in the grandiosity of their opus & it's implicit, & explicit message; or just focus on the instrumentals; or go even more granular & follow one instrument throughout the entire album. Anyways, what was the question again?

Ah... yeah, Didn't you know I'm old? Well I guess I could be older, but old enough to been there, done that, so over drama and don't care what others think. That's normally pretty old to get that way. LOL But really I do have a daughter, and she's 25 and she has a daughter that's 4, (Grand baby) that live with me. My daughter is also a gamer (wonder where she got that from?).

Ditto Joe! Very well said. Since being accepted back I have been able to connect with some of the old timers that I played with before and have met some new ones. Everyone is fun and relaxed. Stay cool. Hope to play at the same time one day.
