We lost a great man. Bart/Roger was a special person in so many ways. His dedication to the clan, servers and people were impeccable. Unfortunately, I just learned of the sad news this morning. My prayers go out to his wife, family and all of those people/players he has touched. May Roger RIP. Window>XI<

It was so sad to hear of Roger's passing. He has been a presence with XI for so long and I spent many hours playing him in COD2 DM, as well as following each other on FB. He will be missed, no doubt. RIP "Bart".

I am sorry for not posting sooner but I am lost and broken...Blackbart>XI< (Roger) was a amazing person....A Vietnam Vet and a Proud American...We would spend hours on the phone over the many years in regards to this community and real life affairs...He never once had anything to say bad about no one and was a very out spoken honorable man...We truly have suffered a great loss and frankly I have been devastated... He always had a ear to lend and more wisdom then I could ever dream of...Let the record show he was last seen on our server 8/11/2021 7:25:48 PM EST and I had the honor to speak to him 8/17/2021 on the phone...I got the chance to thank him for being a dear friend to us all and me personally and for his commitment to this community...He really enjoyed serving as Admin on the servers and the many friendships that came out of them....He fought one hell of fight with illnesses over the years and never complained about it... May his Family find comfort and may he Rest in Eternal Peace ! Please continue to lift up some Prayers for his wife and the rest of his family and friends loADER>XI< William Shepherd Gone but never forgotten !

@loaderXI I quoted you because the 3 of us go back so far here and became so close over the years that we became like Brothers, and Roger was and always will be a "Big Brother" in my Heart. So the words you posted loader are the same as I would have to try to explain to anyone who reads this just how crushed I am inside to learn that the Man I Loved like a big brother is in Heaven and I will live with the hope we meet on the other side. He has such a wonderful way of saying so much with just his laugh from that's funny to your a fucking asshole which was part of his charm. I remember encouraging him to join, asking him and Loader to please help me when I was asked to become head Admin for COD2. Loader was the tech guy and Bart was the voice of reason and I was the mouthy one and we made a great team even though both really weren't sure they deserved to be made Admins which shows their level of respect for the guys who did the job before them. Roger was there for me on a personal level in ways I will forever be grateful for. The one thing I regret is while we talked on the phone, X-fire, Teamspeak, PM's, FB, in game many many times over the 15 years we were friends we never met face to face but I could always call him when ever I wanted and he could do the same and we both enjoyed our times together. I don't recall even if we disagreed on something was there ever a cross word between us and again that is a credit to who he was as a Human Being, he was special. I could go on for hours trying explain just how much I LOVED ROGER BARTLETT and why but typing thru these tears is getting very difficult. I have not felt this depth of personal loss in many years and yet I pray tonight and every night for his Wife and Family not for myself. My Brother is in Heaven now watching over me, he knows I love him but the world lost one of the truly good guys. RIP Rog Ron

try to play last night and my profile was gone cannot connect to activison .......off line hmmm internet connection was active and working, checked firewall and again had more allow app through firewall listed and deleted extras an rebooted. started to play and ping was 40-50 to server and seemed game was lagging real bad as 999 ping for was freezing intermittently. a Yo-Yo effect for run then stop and few seconds later can move again. seems been a target for someone is messing with connections with DOS to loose packets causing the freezing and IC's and rest of players not getting any IC's from server. has this happened to any players other than satellite internet users or loose your profile when start game ? Up your incorrect was being IP hacked last night, not a hacker for was skipping all over map. after windows firewall sortted out game came back to normal or IP attcker left me alone

Thank you Phantom, Bart was quite a guy. This world isn't going to be the same with out him, and the COD2 servers have lost one of the originals. Rest in Peace Bart, I can't believe you are gone. That gravelly voice was a joy to hear every day, and to think I'll never hear it again brings pain to my heart.

It was to be feared when Ted described his condition to us. I hope that his wife is on the mend despite this severe blow of fate. My condolences go out to his wife, family and friends, also and especially here with us in the Clan. I didn't usually know Blackbart, but from everything I've read about him, he must have been a great guy. I would also like to thank him for making a significant contribution to founding this great clan. Rest in peace, Blackbart.

He wasn't just a fellow CoD2 admin, he was much more than that. He was the embodiment of >XI<, always a great laugh and it was always my mission to smack him upside the head. But most importantly he was a friend and one of the family. I woke up this morning for work with a message from Loader on facebook telling me the news. It's just all so surreal. Your name will forever be a part of this family bart and when it's my turn, I got all eternity to smack you when I find you rest well brother, you really have earned it. My thoughts to his wife and family in this difficult time.

So sorry for you loss! Prayers for the family! Although I never met your dad I know him playing on the Call of Duty 2 game and then became FB friends. I like Roger very much and had many messenger conversation and talking on messenger! He also help me getting in the Clan we were in...he had a great sense of humor and easy to talk to. One time on my business trips to Vietnam he had asked me to look for a stone that he had put his initials (Vihn Long) on to find it for him and take a photo of it and sent to him. I did find it and sent it to him and we had a great laugh out of it! Like I said a great guy and I will miss him very much and will miss getting smack in the head in the game as he would do! He's in God hands now and may God bless you and your family!!!

My heart is at a loss to image a time where he will not be here. He was one of those few individuals who you just liked the first time you met him. Himself , phantom and Dizzle were the ones who encouraged me to join XI in early 2007. You maybe gone my old friend but you will never be forgotten. Pete (Ter)

Bart was one of a kind, a very special man who was respected and loved by almost everyone. I was lucky enough to have Bart as a friend from the very beginning of XI. His humor/laugh, and his kindness, added enjoyment to every game he played. Bart always had positive things to say and if one crossed that line he would address the issue in politeness and firmness when required. Struggling to imagine a XI gameplay without Bart, words cannot describe this emptiness. Bart you will never be forgotten, RIP my friend.

All week long I have been dreading reading this post. My whole time with the clan has been on COD2. I know I need to venture out to some other games. But He has always been one that was there and always great to play against and talk with and made it fun. It’s always been more about the people for me than anything else. We need to keep the prayers strong for his wife who is fighting the same battle, but now with this added stress. He will be greatly missed

It really comes down to someones play style. You say that a lot of people are bunny hopping and it ruins the fun. The same can be said for sitting in the corner with an LMG and spamming the ever loving crap out of walls. That is your playstyle. Some like to run around like lunatics and jump around with rockets up their ass; that's their playstyle. Yes different playstyles are annoying, some more than others, but there's no rule against it. That is just how they play the game. Just because it's different doesn't mean its wrong. We had a similar thread up some time ago if I remember correctly riddled with complaints about LMG's and wall-spammers. They're still in the game and those people still play. You just gotta live with it. If it does get too much then of course, there is the no-bunny hopping server. Just get a sohtgun to their face, can't miss from that range

Got word today that Blackbart passed away today. I can’t believe these great people are gone from our lives. Bart was one of the original members and has been through it all with this clan and has always stood strong with the decisions that the clan made. He was the best clan mate, friend anyone could ask for. He will be truly missed by so many here especially the cod2 crew where Bart played. RIP my friend

His wife contacted me today and let me know he passed away this morning. This is a message from her "he passed away this morning from complications of covid. he loved this clan. it was something he enjoyed for so many years. it brought a lot of happiness to him." Toes will be very missed by many, he touched so many people in this clan in the many many years he was a part of this clan. I was able to meet him in person at a Fest and man could he get you laughing. He was a great guy and will be missed. RIP my friend
