Crossed paths with him this evening while on a delivery run. Absolutely beautiful. The deer here, on Fort Knox, know when hunting season approaches & they'll move to the safety of the cantonment area, grazing in back yards & on the golf courses. They will even wait for traffic to pass before crossing the street, watching you pass mere feet away with a mildly-interested gaze. That I had to holler at old boy to get his attention shows their comfortable complacency. I remember riding my bike in this neighborhood some 43 years ago, crossing paths with groups of deer as I rode on the sidewalk, stopping mere feet away from them as they stood on the grass, looking back.

I expect a great dinner to be on table unless I tell you that I won't be home for dinner. I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Any comments?" His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there will be sex here at seven o'clock every night... whether you're here or not."
