Well, after a few months of trying I'm afraid that the admin team has decided to pull the plug on the COD2 TDM tournament. It wasn't for lack of trying, but we just couldn't seem to get everybody together when it was game time. It's just too damn difficult to coordinate so many people in so many different time zones around the world.
 
For those of you who helped put it all together and participated in the games, you have our thanks.
 
Perhaps we can try to do it differently in the near future and get more people interested.

he should be "beat in".
he has to fill the minimum required 5 rounds of no shooting. just run around and everyone gets to bash him.

Your chances might improve if you ship 10 cases of good beer to the head COD2 admin.

Spawn protection is now set at 2 secs without being invisible, just to give people a couple secs to get their bearings
 
 
The scopes are now able to zoom into 10 power using the melee key and zoom out using the use key

For the most part the new DM server seems to be working pretty well and the CI's seems to have been greatly reduced.
 
A couple of suggestions I have would be:
 
1. Do away with the spawn protection. Yes the occasional spawn raping was getting frustrating on the old mod, but having people constantly appear out of nowhere and kill you is even more frustrating than the spawn raping ever was.
 
2. Enable the long range sniper rifle sights. We have at least a couple maps in the current rotation that are absolutely huge, and the only way to see people across the map is with the long range scope.

At first I hated the Sentry guns..... but after being able to steal MacDaddy's gun and listen to it blow the everliving crap out of him multiple times and listen to him cry when it happened made it worth the pain it was........In fact....It filled me with glee!!!! :rofl:

Spawn protection should now be better and the sentry gun is out. 
 
I am still waiting on the host to get the new server setup so we can move

If ci's are still an issue then we need to move to a new host.

What are the specifics of the mod that people are not liking?

Most people don't like the new mod, myself included...The CI's while not as frequent are just as bad when they do occur and peeps leave the server because it becomes unplayable... :)

I have to say I am not a fan of the COD2 DM Mod change. It has gone from a straight shooter mod to something full of gimmicks and traps.
 
No long do you have to face your apponent  but rather set traps or lay gimmicks for them.  I hope this a temp change.

Last fall I suffered a significant drop in kidney function and after months of tests, got a diagnosis yesterday: multiple myeloma. This is a rare cancer of the plasma cells in the bone marrow and unfortunately, is incurable. The cause is unknown though it may be related to an abnormal chromosome. Typically, kidneys are the first organs which suffer.
 
   The object of treatment is to push the disease into some aspect of remission and depending on various factors, including current stage, there's been good success adding years to life - average lifespan from diagnosis is 3-4 years. Treatment usually involves intensive chemo and various other drugs but I won't know those options until a battery of new tests determine where I am with it.
 
   I intend to conduct my life as normally as I can, and fight with everything I've got. We have to play the cards we're dealt, and I am thankful for my friends at XI and the 67 good years I have had on the planet, and hopeful for many more.

For what it's worth, I contacted Activision today about the COD2 server issues and they acted like they weren't aware of it and said they would get on it asap. I told them about the issues with HLSW and connecting to the master server, so we'll see what (if anything) happens.

Jason, if you thought the ban was lifted then why did you feel the need to re-enter our server with a completely new identiy and GUID? I went back and checked your original ban, and it appears that you were re-banned a couple of times back then as well after coming back with a new identity.
 
For future reference, as long as there is an XI clan your ban won't be lifted and you ARE NOT welcome to play on any of our servers. You may find ways to get back in on occasion but we will eventually figure out that it's you and go through this all over again.

I and a few other admins have been watching you play for a while now and we all agreed that your playing style looked very familiar. After doing some research I have determined that you were previously banned from our servers under the handle OneEye.
 
There really isn't any need to deny that you are OneEye Jason. Before you were banned from our servers and you made an introduction post one comment that stands out in your post was:

Tonight on the DM server whenever Stayalive would spawn I would see him spawn as a fighter plane...Everyone else seen him as a normal player...It was so funny to watch a plane run around I dropped to spectate and video'd it...Check it out on my xfire... :)
