So we had our special "2024 Solar Eclipse" sunglasses, had our chairs set up perfectly in the backyard, raincoats on (IT WAS STORMING), and could not even find the sun!    Meanwhile, my kids traveled to Solar Eclipse parties in different parts of the country and had a blast, took great photos...  SO.  I have decided.  We are off to Western Iceland for the Aug 12, 2026 Total Solar Eclipse  (volcanos be damned.)   I have been to Iceland before,  it was June, and froze my butt off... it was windy, it was bleek and grey, sleeting the whole time, no flowers, no greenery, just greys, just sayin.   https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/plan-now-for-the-2026-total-solar-eclipse-in-europe/      🌎   🌋

Retired with nothing going on for the day, so decided this will be our last opportunity at our age to see another total eclipse.  Drove about 2-hrs to be on the centerline down in Ohio.  For us it was well worth the experience.

We were in the path of totality. Was pretty neat!

Wasn't traveling 80 miles to experience 5 minutes of darkness under a mostly cloudy sky; can experience ~12 hrs. of that tonite.
Here's what it looked like at maximum occlusion as the sun peeked out for 6 seconds.

Tartrazine is known as E102 over here and causes all kinds of issues.
It used to be used a lot in childrens drinks but was known to cause hyperactivity and mental stress, making it difficult for children to study.
I'm not sure the alternatives are any better but as natural as can possibly be would be the best colouring . Or none at all

Tartrazine also goes by the names FD&C; Yellow #5 and Yellow 5. Read labels and choose pickle brands without added synthetic color. A few, like Trader Joe’s brand pickles, are dye-free. If you can’t give up your neon green dills, sours and sweets, opt for those containing natural coloring
