He is the only Democrat in Washington that is truly funny.

Although I don't agree with his politics, I just happen to like the guy.

When you are as incompetent at Joe Biden you learn to use humor to hide your failures.

I truly believe Biden helped in keeping  our president safe, for any whack job who wanted to harm the president with just the min. common sense would have more to fear or lose if the president was eliminated. We would go from a very smart man who doesn't support our veterans, law enforcement, military and  disrespects our constitution by making laws on his own etc etc etc. a terrorist supporting lying president with past proven support for the likes of---> (Jeremy Wright, black life matters and Muslim Brother). His replacement Biden would have all these same qualities with the extra special quality of being  incredibly incompetent.

In short the president brought life insurance when picked "Oh its only Joe being Joe

Nah. If Obama was worried about that he would have picked Hillary. The Republicans hate NOBODY more than they hate her and the idea of her as pres is just too terrible to contemplate.

The irony of Dolly's comments was this was from September 2008, when their was a Republican President for 8 years. Embarrassment seems to cross party lines these days, or do my GOP friends blind to that.. I tend to think it does myself, embarrassment I meant.

Being Canadian, I feel Dolly's comments can be directly applied to Ottawa as well.

All parties in both the US and Canada can be called boobs at one time or another.

I also think a BOOB in the real sense is a much more beautiful think than any POLITICIAN THAT HAS EVER LIVED,

If most democrats weren't completely blinded by hatred of anything even remotely conservative, they would see the same glaring problems with her that anybody with an 8th grade education can see. She is the most corrupt politician in our life time, and she is untouchable with a free hand to do whatever and whenever she wants. There are many people sitting in federal prison today guilty of far less than she has done time and time again with impunity.

Hey Steve, I think your assuming that all Democrats are sold on Hilary, and they are not. Bernie gave her run and he literally should have had no chance.

The DNC are just as disachanted as anyone else. The problem is the alternate? Trump is George Wallace and Barry Goldwater rolled into one, and like you say, any 8th grade educated should know that. As a family member of ex-patriotes, that guy is frightening. This is the party of Lincoln? Seriously? If the GOP would have given me someone to vote for I would have easily.

Who is the less of both evils.

Why is Donald Trump disliked? Because the media told us to dislike him?

The media keeps trying to tell me Hillary is a good person and would be great for this country. I dont see the media trying to say the same things about Trump.

My vote is opposite whatever the Media's vote is. Trump 2016

Sorry that still goes to Nixon.

Nixon was vilified for bugging the heaquarters of the DNC, and erasing a few minutes of conversations in the oval office. Rather than denying it and putting the country through impeachment hearings he resigned. Hillary set up a private email server so her private dealings would be secured from public record, erased tens of thousands of emails when their existence became known, and knowingly passed top secret emails through this unsecured server. Oh and let's not forget the best part, she lied about it to Congress and the FBI director and attorney general who were in debt to the Clintons refused to persue charges.

Unlike Hillary who has accomplished absolutely nothing as first lady, in the house, and as secretary of state, Nixon did the following as president.

Domestic accomplishments of President Nixon:

  • Launched initiatives to fight cancer and illegal drugs, imposed wage and price controls, enforced desegregation of Southern schools, and introduced legislation to reform healthcare and welfare
  • Established the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and signed into law the Clean Air Act and National Environmental Policy Act
  • Presided over lunar landings beginning with Apollo 11, although he eventually replaced manned space exploration with shuttle missions
  • Foreign policy accomplishments of President Nixon:

  • Initially escalated America's involvement in the Vietnam War, but subsequently ended US involvement by 1973 through the Paris Peace Accords
  • Opened diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China in 1972 and ushered in a new era of Sino-American relations
  • Initiated détente with the Soviet Union in the wake of his diplomacy with China, leading to SALT I and the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty
  • Supported Israel during the Yom Kippur War, which led to an Israeli victory and a retaliation by Arab OPEC nations who refused to sell crude oil to the US during the 1973 oil crisis
  • Covertly supported a military coup against Chilean Marxist president Salvador Allende

So remind me again why Nixon was so much worse than Hillary.

Terry, in what way is Trump like George Wallace and Barry Goldwater?  Tell me what you know, not what Comedy Central has fed you.

Party of Lincoln? LOL, that's hilarious. I love how the left constantly throws his name around when it suits them. How their party today is supposedly like the Republican party of the 1860's. Lincoln didn't preside over the civil war to end slavery. He was as bigoted toward blacks as most were in that era.  Many of his public speeches during his campaign were down right racist, noting that the blacks should all be sent back to Africa and should never intermarry with whites. Democrats should be letting people know that Republicans are the party of Martin Luther King, but that wouldn't fit in with their narrative.

The Democrats have a very long and racist history that they constantly deny. One of the most beloved members of the US senate (Robert Byrd) was a leader with the KKK in the years leading up to and during WWII.

Post WWII Democrats Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox, and George Wallace were all openly racist...also don't forget Lyndon Johnson ("I'll have those N*gg*rs voting Democratic for the next hundred yrs")...

Sorry guys, busy day. I will answer in a bit.

One thing though, don't make the same mistake that u assume all Democrats do, in that all responses are racial in nature. I can assure you it's not. Don't jump to conclusions until you hear what I have to say.

Thanks guys.

I don't understand what connection you are trying to make...

Ok, both Goldwater in 1964 and Wallace in 1968 rain very decisive campaigns.

Goldwater was willing to drag the Republican party towards a very conservative view. He was willing to divide his party much like Trump is. Some controversial statements that got Goldwater in trouble in 1964 would now find support in red parts of the country. On the most controversial issues, like his hard-line stance against immigration and the division of cultures sound very much like Donald Trump in 2016.  Goldwater's stance on the 1964 civil rights act is a prime example. Arguing it constitutionally had some merit but in the end it was just wrong to prevent anyone from having the same civil rights. I don't think Barry Goldwater as a racist, just on the wrong side of what was morally right for its time.

In reality, George Wallace and Donald Trump have little in common. But what both were able to do was to tap into dark wellsprings of anger, hatred, frustration. I see Trump willing to point out our differences, feed on our fears and create division when in reality America should unite against a common cause. Banning someone on the basis of religion or kicking out millions who just want a good life like yourself is wrong. Don't get me wrong, things must improve and safety and wellbeing of the nation is a must. I think Trump is well ahead of Hilary on that, but does it need to be as extreme as his rhetoric?

Hope that helps with my comment, thanks for asking.

Hey Steve

I have no doubt that Lincoln was a product of his time with segregation and bigotry playing its part. I also agree that LB Johnson was indifferent to the civil rights movement in the south.  What is common between these men was their ability to set their opinions aside to improve the livelihood of all men, black or white for the common good of the nation.  Johnson was just continuing what Kennedy began.

As for the DNC ignoring their dark past? I don't think anyone is proud of the existence of the Dixicrats,

Martin Luther King a Republican?   I don't think so. It seems both parties will go well out of their way to claim King was a member but King himself never said so. King never believed in any party identification. He never let himself align to any partisan politics.
