RESI_STONER Posted August 29, 2016 Member ID: 24561 Group: **- Inactive Registered Users Followers: 0 Topic Count: 5 Topics Per Day: 0.00 Content Count: 19 Content Per Day: 0.01 Reputation: 12 Achievement Points: 158 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 05/23/16 Status: Offline Last Seen: December 10, 2016 Author Share Posted August 29, 2016 to fix the server you need to make it all conquest.. conquest small till a certain amount of people join. make it so admins, not just head admins can add maps and modes in responsibly, like if there is enough of us in there and we want to play gunmaster we can add it and then take it out after the round. its not that hard, same with domination.. but neither of those modes shouldn't be in the rotation. if you have to get rid of map voting then so be it.. 90% of the time only 5 people vote with a full server and almost no one votes when its 10 and under. i personally and most people that play battlefield don't even have gunmaster or domination even checked when search for a server to play on if they dont already know about the server or have it bookmarked. the server only starts to get pubers in once we can get to a conquest map. which out of 8 votes most of the time only 2 or conquest maps that we can even vote for. and if it goes back to a domination map after or gunmaster we lose half the people if not all that are not on TS with us. i'm not some brat you can ask the guys i'm there trying to start the server almost everyday. i shouldn't have to be XI for my vote to count. I'll also add that just because you don't see me on the server playing doesn't mean much, I am around a lot more vs. you think. We all talk a lot more vs. what you think also. That said, this same discussion has happened more times vs. any of us can count and most recently in the member sections (created by a member, not even an admin if I recall) which means you don't see them all. The map list has been an ongoing talk. People complain it starts off with CQ, other people complain it starts off with DOM. You want CQ, that's what it was before when it was dead and others wanted SOME GM and DOM etc. added. We can't please everyone. The current setup is a result of a thread that started a month or two ago with people asking for it to be changed. I don't think out of 29 maps (on small list) 3 of which being Gun Master, 3 being CTF and the rest being Domination and CQ Small split is a horrible ration but that's just my opinion also. We're trying to balance for a number of people, not a single person. I've also told people I'm always open to suggestions if they are reasonable and make sense. Just a week or so ago Lazy asked me about maps. I told him if he sees more CQ small maps he thinks will help I can add to the list let me know. The only rule was to "try" to avoid massive ones that people don't want to play when the server only has 10 people in it. Ultimately the server needs dedication to live on. No map list will make or break it on it's own. Lately I can say we have noticed certain people putting in effort and we're thankful for them doing that. As for admins being able to change maps. All admins/mods have access to set the next round in the event of the vote screwing up or starting the server etc. Changing the actual list isn't a drag and drop option because we use a plugin to manage it and you can't have both and with drag and drop you can't automatically change a list based on size... And no, you don't have to be XI to have a voice but you also are only one voice of many. If you have constructive suggestions anyone is willing to listen but keep in mind you may not also know everything going on before you vent. FWIW the vote is also set to be fairly randomized based on displaying maps not recently played. So if the last 3 rounds in a row somehow magically ended up being the 3 gun master maps, no GM would show again for many votes... So once a specific map is played it's less likely to show on the list again right away which reduces the "playing the same maps over" people tend to thing.
