Sonovabich Posted August 31, 2016 Member ID: 82 Group: ** Registered Users Followers: 0 Topic Count: 1534 Topics Per Day: 0.29 Content Count: 5020 Content Per Day: 0.94 Reputation: 5171 Achievement Points: 131490 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 116 Joined: 09/02/09 Status: Offline Last Seen: 5 hours ago Device: Windows Share Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) Don't look like we will be running any servers for this game as it was basically the same as that Stars Wars matchmaking crap they put out last year, actually thought that map (Sinai) we were playing yesterday was from that game anyway, if you thought shooting the planes down was hard you should try to shoot a horse bullets just seemed to bounce off it and it's rider most of the time, will probably have many fans but it wasn't really like WW1 at all to be honest even some of the characters looked like something from a Star Wars Movie, don't really know what they are trying to achieve, if they want WW1 go for it and do it right, if they want to make it into some sort of Sci Fi thing with WW1 weaponry (well nearly, so many guns were like early assault rifles, which if any at all were in it's infancy, where are all the single shot rifles like Lee Enfields, Mausers, Bertiers, Springfield, etc) well go for that too, as i said it will have many fans and i have pre ordered it and i will probably enjoy it for what it is but i don't think it will be around long, but if you want to play a real WW1 game go to Steam and buy Verdun....probably not, as you can't run around at breakneck speed and most rifles need to be reloaded after one shot lol. The map we played now, I have to say, does not give me the ww1 feeling. The map in the closed alpha however did. I played both conquest and rush now and must say I liked rush. The conquest was, well, more of a silk road feeling..... I will buy it, but not without dedicated servers.... Those tanks are like racing cars compared to real tanks in ww1, thought all the other vehicles were pretty fast for a ww1 game. Also went into the help, and it said Sinai is one of Battlefields biggest ever maps....sand sand and more fucking sand lol. I was in a round yesterday and 1 guy went 54-0 because he was in a heavy tank. He ran over mines and shortly after he was healed, dynamite didn't do much damage, the tank grenades dont do as much damage as they should and the tank gun does less than the grenades. Horses are very strong. I shot one with an automatic gun and it did 4 damage. A horse would have bolted and killed the rider throwing it off. Lastly, I like the fact the pilots have a limited set of weapons. But the fact that everyone has a parachute, bugs me. Lower left side Tanks in Rush are a bit OP, but more because there are about 3 tanks per team of 12.. In CQ tanks didn't really bother me tho. The game is all right I suppose. I didnt expect anymore from it. The desert map on Conquest is quite boring after a while and dont intend playing the map on that gamemode again. The rush gamemode is much better in my opinion. It sort of reminds me of BFBC2 at the start as the first 2 mcoms are in a part of the map that isnt featured in conquest. Its good the way it expands into the canyon as well. Hopefully the will make the other maps the same way for rush. It defintely feels like that have actually made an effort in the rush gamemode in BF1 unlike in BF4 where they randomly placed mcoms around a map and that was it. As it stands its a good game , something different for a change. I might consider buying the game a week or two after release to see what the other maps are like first.
