So keep checking back in the coming days, weeks and months as loads of juicy stuff is surely set to arrive! ~ o Ginja Ninja o May 12 2011 MW3 and COD: Elite Logos? Is this the leaked boxart and logo for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3? And what exactly is 'Call of Duty: Elite'? With the expectation that Modern Warfare 3 will be revealed any day now, a forum member at Electric Hydra » released these images, claiming them to be from the upcoming Call of Duty sequel “Modern Warfare 3?. The member also posted an image for Call of Duty Elite, which could be the online service that Activision hinted at in its quarterly conference call just days ago. Remember, these images are not confirmed to be real at this time. While the Modern Warfare 3 logo is pretty self-explanatory, what is more interesting is the Call of Duty: Elite Logo. “Elite” might have something to do with Project Beachhead, the studio handling the social part of COD, of which not much information has been released either. The only information about it is this quote by Activison CEO Bobby Kotick;“On our last call, I told you that we had formed a wholly-owned development studio called Beachhead to lead the creation of an all new connected digital universe to the Call of Duty franchise, this platform will include a suite of services and content plans that will unite and ignite the community like never before. The platform will support in-game integration and bring online experiences and console play together for the first time." - Activision CEO, Bobby Kotick Earlier this year Activision revealed that "a new internal studio called Beachhead was working on an integrated online platform for the Call of Duty franchise, providing a "best in class online community" with services that would "supercharge the series like never before"". Beachhead has been able to work quietly on this platform for over a year and it is expected to be released along with the 2011 installment of Call of Duty. A report from research firm Janco Partners speculates that;Additional online services through Beachhead could include a more extensive in-game wagering system (Zynga poker style), competitive leagues/tournaments, community development, exclusive content, traditional Map Pack DLC offerings, and vanity / customization related items," - Janco Partners It also goes on to say that Beachhead could raise as much as $134 million in addition to "sales from traditional map pack DLC offerings," attracting 5 million players. Remember, this is just a report and may or may not be correct, so take it with a pinch of salt. Also of interest these past few days is an article on Kotaku », that purportedly shows the box art for "MW3". While this image may just be a fake, it is of note that the text on the box art matches the text shown on the logo, so perhaps the 2 are real or they are made by the same person. ~ o Ginja Ninja o
