  5. Considering the franchise's popularity, there wasn't really any doubt about another Crysis game being in the works, but the upcoming entry has been confirmed after a series of leaks. EA jumped the gun today, briefly posting Crysis 3 on Origin. The listing was swiftly retracted, but not before Webgoers could grab a screenshot (below). Although Origin pulled the entry, remnants of the download page are still indexed on Google. Since that blunder, NeoGAF readers have discovered high-resolution box art and a teaser indicating that Crysis 3 will be featured in an upcoming issue of Game Reactor. If you haven't caught on yet, there are few official details, but the box art depicts a Crysis soldier donning a nanosuit and a lethal compound bow. The background reveals an urban setting, suggesting that the game won't return to the jungle -- or at least not entirely. Based on the premature listings, Crysis 3 will ship on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 for $49.99 -- $10 cheaper than Crysis 2's launch rate. A pricier Limited Edition is expected, but there's no word on what it'll have. In a statement to The Verge, EA said "the best kept secret in shooters just can't be contained," though the company won't cough up more details until April 16 -- presumably coinciding with Game Reactor's publishing schedule.
  6. report from the PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) suggests the industry is alive and kicking with record software sales of $18.6 billion in 2011, a 15% increase over 2010. That's partly attributed to China, which is growing nearly twice as fast as the global market, generating $6 billion for a 27% jump on-year. No geographical market declined in sales, while the US, UK, Germany, Korea and Japan felt an 11% boost with $8 billion in revenue. The PCGA noted that free-to-play games (ironically) produced a sizeable portion of the revenue, with Zynga reporting $1.1 billion alone. Chinese outfit Tencent specializes in free-to-play titles and when 2011's figures are fully crunched, it's expected to surpass Activision Blizzard as the company which generates the most revenue from PC games. Tencent and Riot Games' League of Legends hit 32 million registered players last November. "The PC gaming juggernaut continues unabated, across the industry and geographic boundaries. While reports of gaming sales at retail show signs of struggle, the impact hasn't been as great for PC gaming which had an earlier adoption of newer formats, business-models and delivery..." the report reads. It concludes that annual PC gaming revenue will grow 37% to $25.5 billion by 2015 as broadband Internet and digital distribution expand. See! PC gaming isn't dying after all! We're not taking sides, but to be fair, just because it generated buckets of cash last year doesn't mean PC gaming isn't dying -- at least not to those who say it is. When someone claims PC gaming is dying, it's never about sales figures. It's usually about the loss of what made PC gaming great: bleeding-edge graphics, highly customizable, mod-friendly platforms, "hardcore" gameplay, huge expansions and strong communities. That has given way to stagnant engines/APIs, closed platforms, bite-sized DLC and gameplay that is more palatable to mainstream gamers. Profits come first. It's increasingly rare for games to be created specifically for PC and even when developers make such claims, they're often misleading. Battlefield 3 comes to mind. So doesCrysis 2, which launched without support for DirectX 11 along with other console-centric elements. Glancing back at PCGA's report, growth in 2011 mainly stemmed from improving distribution and reaching larger audiences, not necessarily polishing the formula that attracted early PC gamers. Again, we're not saying we think PC gaming is dying (or dead) but it's easy to see why someone might. Dying seems exaggerated, but the industry is definitely changing. With the launch of Mass Effect 3 this week, BioWare is a convenient example. Speaking with Escapist, industry veterans explained how the culture at BioWare shifted from ambitious and passionate to restrained and resentful following EA's acquisition in 2007. Technical artist Dan Fedor described his early contributions as a labor of love. Toward the end of his seven-year tenure, the corporate setting smothered his creative drive. Are money-hungry mega-publishers spoiling the essence of PC gaming?

  8. Earlier today, it was announced that Epic Games would reveal a new game at this year's Spike Video Game Awards. Design Director Cliff Bleszinski has confirmed that it will be "something new", and not new entries in the Gears of War or Infinity Blade franchises. In a statement from Bleszinski's official IGN member page, Cliffy stated "The only information i will give now it will be a fps and it wont be like cod of duty ok. Because I know how to make games very EPIC!!." Well said, Cliffy B. "Just cutting down this tree lol. EPIC" As it turns out, Epic's next game won't be like Call of Duty, it IS Call of Duty. According to Bleszinski himself, the next entry in the long running military franchise will be titled Call of Duty: Gears of Brofare. Said Bleszinksi: "Both the Call of Duty and Gears of War franchises have entertained millions of bros worldwide, with their epic campaigns, epically epic multiplayer, and most of all, their epic level of EPICNESS. We're excited to combine both franchises epic sensibilities into something epic that all bros an appreciate. EPIC." Following the reveal, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick had this to say: "We're incredibly excited to add Epic Games to our long list of Call of Duty-exclusive developers, which already includes Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. With Epic on board, we can now increase Call of Duty's output from only one game every year to two games annually, giving gamers exactly what they want." What do you think? What would you like Epic Games to bring to the long running franchise? Let us know in the comments!

  10. Information coming from a "reliable" source has informed DonanimHaber that AMD is expected to release its new Radeon HD 7900 series on January 9, 2010. This is a day ahead of the typical Tuesday release, along with one day before the official start of CES 2012. It is expected to have two cards released, the HD 7970 and HD 7950, that are based on AMD's new 28 nm "Tahiti" platform. Early specifications for "Tahiti" (based on bits and pieces of information from various sources) are listed below. These specifications match closely to what was originally reported in September for the HD 7970 and HD 7950. 4.50 billion transistors, die-area of 380 mm², built on TSMC 28 nm process Advanced GCN 1D architecture 2048 1D processing cores 128 TMUs, 48 ROPs 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, memory clock slightly below 1 GHz, target bandwidth of 240~264 GB/s In addition, it is reported the new HD 7900 series will introduce Eyefinity 3D. This will add support for 3D-optimized (120 Hz) displays, and allow users to create large stereoscopic 3D display heads using multiple 3D displays. All of this looks to be coming with a hefty price though, as early European pricing for the HD 7970 is in the range of 539-549 Euro (or $699.03 to $712.00)

That may be the reason for your website status. I also convied that if he or the seniors think this is a hack I for one will remove my tags and go quitely and on peaceful terms. I did not download and run a program in the background while playing the game to achieve this I joined a server.
  14. RD Here guys...try this here. You must hit the translate as its in french as it is now but might bring some relief ...not sure but worth the try. Alsmost 800 pages in EA support on this issue alone=sad as shit http://www.crazyws.fr/tutos/solution-pour-punkbuster-disallowed-program-driver-120181.html ? Stay tuned HOME CONTACT SERVICES WARNINGS A DAY A ABOUT Solution for PunkBuster Disallowed Program / Driver [120181] 02/12/2011 at 10:48:02 p.m. I return with a new tutorial for a bug that this time does not directly Battlefield 3 , but the application loaded to protect the game of cheaters and hackers: PunkBuster company Even Balance . Here it concerns a problem to me arrived a few days ago and that made ??me unable to play Battlefield 3 on servers protected by PunkBuster. The error message was displayed after a few seconds after the arrival of a part: Game disconnected: kicked by PunkBuster You Were. Stated reason: Punkbuster kicked player ******* (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program / ??Driver [120181] Basically this message means that a program or driver installed on your machine is not allowed. Do not worry you are not banned, just that you are blocked by PunkBuster's all. To solve this problem I had to peel the net a lot and found some solutions that will solve this problem. Of course the error message displayed may be of another type, but must always involve PunkBuster if you read this article all the way. Here are the solutions I propose: Disable polluters Clean and update PunkBuster Send a ticket to Even Balance Disable polluters Often this kind of error comes from the fact that a program interacts with the game basically a program that can provide information on the screen as the Steam overlay, in Teamspeak or XFire. Here's a list programs could pose such problems: Ingame Steam Community Ventrilo Chat Overlay Team Speak Overlay Mumble Overlay DxTweaker ATI Tray Tools (depending on version) Game Accelerator (uninstall, then reboot) EVGA Precision tool Pando Media Booster Of course they are not alone, and since we all have different machines with a lot of programs installed, I suggest you do this manipulation: Click on Start, then Run (or Windows + R) Enter msconfig and click OK. Click the Start of the window that is displayed. And Disable All Restart your machine. If launching the game you always have the error message, go to the next step of this article. Clean and update PunkBuster Delete PunkBuster We will first start with PunkBuster to completely remove from your computer. For this pbsvc.exe download the utility and run it. In the window that appears, choose Un-Install/Remove PunkBuster Service Now that the uninstall is complete via PBSCV we will clean up the files / directories left on your computer. Go to the directory where you installed Battlefield 3. (Here C: \ Program Files \ Origin Games \ Battlefield 3) and delete the folder pb therein. Now your user directory management where data on PunkBuster (you show hidden files and folders), here Windows 7 gives it: C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData \ Local and delete the directory PunkBuster . Install and update PunkBuster To install PunkBuster, it's easy just to reopen pbsvc.exe and choose the first option Install / Re-Install PunkBuster Service . If the following message is displayed, the installation was successful! If this is not the case, then you have a problem with your firewall. Verify that the files PunkbusterA.exe and PunkbusterB.exe are allowed and that the ports are open. To update PunkBuster we will download the utility called pbsetup.exe The launch of the PBSetup window, click Add a Game and select Battlefield 3 from the list. Normally the way to the games will be automatically entered for selection. If this is not the case, pull it by hand then click Add Game . Now that the game is selected, click Check for Updates and wait for the update. Here you can try again start the game If it still does not work, go to the next step. Send a ticket to Even Balance So here's the last resort to solve a problem due to PunkBuster: to call the company that developed this application by sending them a ticket. You will need a minimum of knowledge in English but if you know nothing, I will explain So first of all before attending to write to Even Balance, we will recover the PunkBuster logs generated after the error. To do this, go to your home directory where PunkBuster (you display hidden files and folders), here on Windows 7 it gives: C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData \ Local \ PunkBuster \ BF3 \ bp Here you will create a file named pbcl.cfg which shall contain: See the code Print A pb_logtofile 1 Now that the file is created, try again to connect to the game to regenerate the error message. Return to the directory where we created the file pbcl.cfg. Normally you should find a new file named pbcl.log . This is the file that contains all the information about your connection to the game and more specifically to PunkBuster servers. In my case it contained this: See the code Print 01 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] pb_LogToFile = 1 (0 = no, 1 = Yes) 02 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] Attempting to resolve master7.evenbalance.com 03 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] Resolved to [216,240,146,139] (15) 04 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] PunkBuster Client (v2.279 | A0) Enabled 05 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] Game Version [886583] 06 [01/12/2011 7:47:01 p.m.] Not Connected to a Server 07 [01/12/2011 7:47:02 p.m.] Master Query Sent to (BF31.EVENBALANCE.COM) 66.180.170.20 08 [01/12/2011 7:47:04 p.m.] PB Services socket initialized 09 [01/12/2011 7:47:06 p.m.] Connected to Server 74.91.115.139:25200 10 [01/12/2011 7:47:08 p.m.] PnkBstrA successfully loaded PnkBstrB 11 [01/12/2011 7:47:08 p.m.] WARNING: PB Kicks for Level 1 PB Restrictions on this Server 12 [01/12/2011 7:47:08 p.m.] PB Server Assigned guid = ****************************** 13 [01/12/2011 7:47:08 p.m.] Receiving from PB Server (w v1.839 | A1386 C2.279) 14 [01/12/2011 7:47:11 p.m.] PnkBstrB ??service installed and started successfully 15 [01/12/2011 7:47:33 p.m.] RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program / Driver [120181] 16 [01/12/2011 7:47:38 p.m.] Not Connected to a Server Keep it safe, we will need it later. We will now create the famous protest ticket to Even Balance and English if you please. Yes there is no support in French Click on this link: http://evenbalance.com/troubleticket/new_ticket.php?game=bf3 and follow these steps: Accept the terms by clicking I Agree to the PunkBuster EULA In Name / Nickname put your username in Battlefield3 In Problem / Issue put the explanatory text below: See the code Print A I updated punkbuster but i Always Got this error when i want to join a server: RESTRICTION: Disallowed Program / Driver [120181] 2 3 Thanks for your help! 4 5 Here is my PunkBuster log: 6 7 PASTE HERE THE LOG Of course replace PASTE HERE THE LOG file contents by pbcl.log . For other information to understand they are quite clear. However, if you do not understand everything you can leave a comment. And finally click on Submit Support Request . You will receive an e-mail to the address on the form that contains a link to put aside! This link is your ticket, that should not be lost because Even Balance will tell you that over the ticket and not by e-mail. So much for me it took them two days to respond to my request. And the result of my ticket:
  15. try starting the game and check to see if the services for punkbuster a and b are running. if not go into your bf3 game folder and look for (pbsvc.exe) double click it and run it. have done some searching (Google is your FRIEND) and that seems to fix the issue.
  16. Personally I would have a good dinner and pay my bills. : )
  17. ok launch game to multiplayer at the main screen goto settings then video. Under video click on advanced and goto image quality set it to native. Also make sure your game resolution is set to the same as your desktop resolution and try that. If that doesnt work also try this: go into your steam library find Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3-Multiplayer right click on it and choose properties. Then click on local files and then click on verify integrity of game cache. Let it run after it sompletes try launching the game and see if that works.
  18. It really depends on the motherboard's hardware RAID. A lot of cheaper (read: no-server) motherboards require you to install software RAID drivers within Windows anyway. Also, a hardware RAID will be handled using your motherboard, and therefore can become tied to your motherboard. If your concerned about the stability of your motherboard already, I would avoid its RAID like the plague. In this circumstance, unless your motherboard has actual hardware RAID (not the standard fake hardware RAID) you are much better off sticking with Windows 7 RAID. Even when considering pure hardware RAID vs. software RAID there are trade-offs with each system, and IMO hardware RAID is only necessary in a production environment. I could help here - I've been on the phone with Microsoft's support people and the Western Digital people. I just purchased two 1 TB drives as I wanted some assurance (due to my backup lazines) that my data would be replicated/backed up with minimal interference. Well... this is what I know: You can setup mirroring to happen (which is like RAID 1) but not really by doing the following - with a pitfall. You have to install Windows 7 in order to mirror - so given that you have done that I typically like to partition off my disk 0 into a C and D where C is for OS stuff and programs and D is for data. Each drive disk 0 and 1 must be set to Dynamic. (DO NOT format disk 1 - leave it unformatted - otherwise the next step will not work). Right click on drive D from disk 0 and left click on Add Mirror - when you do this you will see disk 1 appear and click on it. The software found disk 1 as it is completely unallocated and see's it as a free drive to mirror on. Click OK and in a few moments you will see the same drive space allocated for disk 0 drive D on disk 1 and it names it the same - drive D and resynchronising with a percentage showing progress. This can take some time even with no data to synchronise. When the resynchronising is complete - no further action is needed - except you might have to rescan the drive by left clicking it and choosing Action from the menu then Scan Disks - takes just a moment and you're done. The ONLY problem is - you can't mirror disk 0 - drive C! I'm so frustrated - it attempts it, but gets only so far and then you get a failure message on the disk 0 area and sometimes you get Virtual Disk Manager Error "No Extents Were Found For The Plex". What is the matter with that?! I have tried researching and perhaps not enough but neither Microsoft or Western Digital could help me. They don't know what it means and perhaps Windows 7 is not quite ready yet to take advantage of the driving mirroring capabilities. How to get around this? - I would really appreciate knowing how you did it! Please email me at [email protected]. That's all I got - took me antire day working with Microsoft an Western Digital do get this information I found this on a site may help you may not.
