Hello, all..... So I've been playing on XI for quite a few years, and Belted has been kind enough to offer my "tags". Unfortunately, I'm lazy. I have neglected producing enough posts to qualify. So, for the month of May, I'm committed to posting enough information to qualify (if you'll still have me, of course). I really don't like to do things half-way, so please indulge me while I do ON AND ON about myself: - Married 18 years (in a row) to college sweetheart - Two kids - 46 years old - Marketing with minor in finance - Polish/German/Irish (not-so-smart, not-so-kind, not-so-sober) - Straight (well, mostly....who is completely straight ? I am ! No, wait.....) - Small business owner - Volunteer fire fighter for a small department, in a small village (Reese) in Michigan - Detroit Lions fan (stop....seriously, don't laugh) - Metallica and Gordon Lightfoot, Shelby Foote and Bernard Cornwell, Lincoln and Reagan, Wilder and Pryor - "Do or do not, there is not try" - New Buffalo (MI), Grand Rapids (MI), Chicago (IL), New Buffalo (MI...didn't you catch the last one ?), Reese (MI) That's all I've got for now. More posts about ME to come....yahoo ! Wojo

So a buddy of mine asked me about a month ago to choose four people (two living, two dead) who I could have two beers with (it may have been have dinner with, but for purposes of this discussion, let's say "two beers"). Dead is easy for me....Lincoln (what the hell where you thinking ?) and Washington (what the hell where you thinking ?). The "living" people has been a plague upon my thinking. The obvious choices: Musk, Gates, Bezos. The curious choices: Bill Clinton (possibly the only bullshitter bigger than me, that I know of.....I may have something to learn, and I'm certain the conversation would not be boring and I'm also certain we wouldn't stop at two beers), Condoleezza Rice (yes, I did have to Google the spelling, but the most impressive female of my lifetime), Giuliani (leadership and overcoming adversity). But, either do to my overinflated ego or indifference to the actual importance of what could possibly be said to make the conversation worth my time, I could not decide on any of these incredible people. I have two friends who truly stand out to me. Hefe (who you may know), and J (who you don't know). I have the privilege of speaking with Hefe on an almost daily basis. J, I get to really speak with once or twice each year. I suppose our friendships offer a level of discussion that may move beyond courtesy and formality, and provide personal incite borne of familiarity. The incredible part: even thought we share a close relationship, I am consistently challenged by the ideas these friends offer. Challenges to my behavior, thought process, and assumptions.....and challenges I hope I am offer to them, as well. Perhaps the conversation is enhanced because of our history and previous discussion......strike that. I'm sure of it. For the two "living" people, I choose my two friends. So....whaddya got ? Two living, two dead. Wojo
