And appreciated by all for his contributions to Rock and Roll. Dick served as the bridge to make Rock and Roll acceptable to our parents. Before Dick Clark Rock and Roll was almost a dirty word. His appeal to both teens and older folk helped bring Rock and Roll into respectability. God only knows how many stars careers were started with the help of Dick Clark and American Bandstand.
