Yeah, I agree with mouse. Having a nice sound card is mostly important if you're recording and/or you want to connect to an external interface with 1/4", MIDI or balanced ports. That being said, it couldn't hurt your experience, particularly if you're planning to invest more than 300 bucks in a pair of headphones or monitors.

Yeah I'm usually torn because I don't mind some chatter, and I prefer to be in the conquest channel that more people are in so I can curse at them when they kill me, but it gets really distracting. I also feel like people think I'm a jerk when I move out of conquest into tac.

Yeah the internet is full of idiots, and reddit is no exception. Having the server populated more often = Good. I do think it's been more full lately, and I've even noticed more people waiting in the queue. Fortunately most of us have reserve slots, so that's shouldn't be a problem

Sooo, mine came from a nickname at work and it's basically a play on my last name: Freeberg. Simple as that. There is a longer, somewhat lame description of when freefry was coined, but I've explained it before and its sort of a "you had to be there" story. I would be just Freefry, Freefries or even Freeefry, but those are taken on origin. Alternate name formatting suggestions are welcome.

Target and Fantasy Flight games are both headquartered in the Minneapolis area, so it makes sense that they would partner up. Fantasy flight has a ton of good games. Do you know which games Target will sell? This wouldn't really change the way we play, EXCEPT that hopefully everyone would be in teamspeak tactical channels we would be more organized as a team. People could play certain roles and hold certain areas more strictly than in our normal conquest games. Maybe we should look to Shogun 2 for how they structure things. I started playing that game, but it seemed extremely complicated.

The list of rules makes it seem a bit intimidating, but the majority of the people playing wouldn't need to know the rules to participate. Anyone could join without any prep reading and pick up the structure as we go. To summarize the game: Two generals draft for control of the 8 regions to start, then troops are distributed and the first commander attacks two regions and the attack outcome is decided based on how the rounds turn out. Afterwards, the generals can converse with their team about where to put the troops, then the other side gets two attacks, and so on back and forth. That's all you really need to know about the game to play unless you're one of the two generals. Odd, FMBill and I worked together on the rules and map, so feel free to ask us questions or to clarify rules. They're still flexible.

Lost Island, DMRs only, no radar, no hit indicators, rush and capture the flag game modes. That way you can make sure I'll never play past midnight.

Hi XI, I made my account a couple months back when I started playing BF4 since I have friends in XI (wanted to get started on the 3 month forum membership requirement). After playing nearly a couple hundred hours on your server and meeting numerous XI members on teamspeak, I've decided to apply myself to joining. You all seem like a nice bunch! I've played quite a few FPS games over the years (decent amount of COD and lots of counterstrike when I was in high school), but at this point I mostly play BF4. Occasionally I play Diablo 3 as well. I'm a 28 year old Minnesotan. Friends IRL with Oddjob and FireMarshallBill. I'm a big nerd? What else is there to know? Looking forward to several hundred more hours on XI servers, hopefully with a clan tag!
