Public Domain means the music/book/movie/character isn't covered by copyright anymore, either because protection ran out or wasn't renewed. When that happens, everyone are free to use, modify, distribute, sell as they wish. For instance: You are free to write and sell stories about Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan, Robin Hood, (early) Mickey Mouse, Alice (In Wonderland), Cthulhu, Scrooge, Rosie the Riveter, Aladdin, King Kong and many more. This year Tintin and Popeye was added to the list. (Before you start writing, make sure to be inspired by the unprotected works only, as later versions of the character might still be protected.) Other notable additions: music like "Singin' In The Rain", "Bolero" and "Happy Days Are Here Again", books by William Faulkner, Hemingway, Agatha Christie and Steinbeck. Hey hey all Thought I'd take a break from my strike, make a post here. Wzup? I'm Jonas, from Denmark and 1976. Forgot to have kids, the long-haired one in my profile pic is my newest and very adorable niece. Not sure when I started playing on the XI server, but enjoy the company, banter and defrosting all you good people, so plan to stick around. Works as an entrepreneur. Mostly in the event/music industry, but winding down since COVID lock-downs left too uncertain a future. Now building a business distributing and manufacturing physical products. Early stages, but going fine so far. (Anyone got brewery connections, please reach out.) Other things I like: Scratching vinyl records. Big Band Swing (The music was one of the best things about World War II). Archery / Bow & Arrow (You eat the bugs, don't worry about why I keep gaining weight).
