This is a link to a Utube feature, sponsored by Sixense and Razor Hydra. They have combined the use of Oculus Rift HMD, and the Hydra to make a short movie. The area they show is called Tuscany. It is an Open Sandbox area, very small, that develpers use to test their apps for Devices using the Rift HMD. Sixense has done 2 things here. The ability to interact with objects in the area, and movement of not only upper body limbs, but also the lower body limbs as well. The real kicker is Sixense has done this using a normal, modern PC, with no extra internal Hardware to make it all work. Kudos I say to Sixense. I hope their Idea will soon be a reality feature included with the Consumer release of the Rift. Remember also, Surgeons are using a plain LCD screen to make Video Operations a reality right now! The problem with this is apparent, as the Surgeon cannot visualize 3d, but has to immagine this instead. Tricky right? The possibility of using Oculus Rift to perform long distant operation, with the Sixense app, has now become a potential reality to places like the South Pole Station during their Winter when transportation is impossible. Here's the Utube link. I think you all will enjoy this...Jd Neilr http://www.youtube.com/user/sixensent?feature=mhee BUDMAN and PingLo 2
