  1. I have seen the modern Liquid Coolers that are availabe for the PC. Some are "Sealed units" while others have Hoses and Clamps, but to date they all have their failings. Right? This summer this problem once again hit me while I was being cooled by a Mild Summer heat wave, by my Window Portable "Air Conditioner" Being a Retired trucker, and Certified Autopartman and General Warehouseman retired from a Cold Storage and Sorting Distribution Center for a Major Food Chain where I live, I am also fully aware, knowledgable on how this Air/Heat exchange works too. Then it hit me! We can miniturize darn near anything nowadays, e.g. (Celphone technologies) why not a "Miniaturized Air-Conditioner" for the PC? Think about before you start laughing ok? Whats in the Air Conditioner? Compressor, Heat exchanger, Refrigerant liquid, Condensor, (Basically) Yep, those things are just to bulky !!! But what about that portable 12 volt Car Portable, "Ice Box" that we can buy for about $60 US? Ever seen one of em? The guts of em would fit easily into a PC, and there is NO LIquid of any kind in it too! Remember the guy who found a use for, Oregonian Deserts Dust and Gravel"? It was called "Tidy Cat" and Nobody wanted it! Billion Dollar Industry now..... So, if we have a PC Gearhead here that can find a "Wrecked" 12volt PICNIC Cooler, and can at least get a cheap 12 volt power inverter to make it go...then How about bolting onto the side of a "Gaming PC" you might also have, and see how much this "RIG" cools down that PC too? Idea is yours for the taking ok? KUDOS if you get it working and make a bundle of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ of it too!!!
  2. Well, I feel a bit better now knowing that there is still a few old school guys around to help out one another before they guy looking at major engine work spends their, "Children's Inheritance" on some repairs they really don't need? Now the next thing to do is to get the "Word Out!" to these guys to talk to one of you guys before they do this, as that is what started me off on this Quest to start with! Thanks Guys, I think we can close off this Thread now?
  3. Yeppers ...my first rebuild was a Datsun shitcan. Did everything to it except the Main Bearings, as would have had to split the engine block in two to do that, It really was a P.O,S, that I just rebuild to trade in ha ha ha.
  4. Totaly! Hit if perfectly on the spot! But, if you know how to do this, ever check to see if the Valves are leaking "Externally?" Its for the Knowledgable only. Vavle in "UP" position, add WD40 then wait to see if if "Vanishes" . Doing this to each and every valve, will let you know if there is a Cheap prob that can be fixed easily too right? I deleted this prevously, as a "Backyard Mech" can even screw this up too easy, ha ha!
  5. There may even be a "YouTube" on "Valve Leak Down Testing", but with my experience and education I never needed it... I will however GOOGLE this and see if I find something to, {LINK} here. Thanks.
  6. BTW....thats about all I ever will say about, "Politics, Religion, Sex, etc, as it gets me in the shit way to many times in the past! Its a "TABOO" subject to me bro!
  7. Ha ha ha, good one LOL A Canadian "Voting" for Trump! I personally wondered how the hell he won that election anyways, ROFL!
  8. I have heard recently a story that brought some concern to me about, "Engine Rebuilds" being recommended by the local garage you take your car to. This is all fine and dandy, but does that engine really need a rebuild? The car is, smoking a bit, low on power, and a bit heavy on gas too. Those are the first signs right? Wrong! First things first. There are a hellova lotta signs when the motor needs a full overhaul, but in these Fiscally hard times its just to easy sometimes for someone to, "Ply their Advice" to make you go ahead and, "Save your Baby!" no matter what, as an Newer Car is out of the Question right? Here's the ticket on how to tell if your garage is working a Quick! Was a Valve leak test advised first by your shop? Did they do a "Compression Test" AFTER the Valve leak down test? Was there any contamininates taken in the "OIL SAMPLE" they sent away for analysis? (BIG Rigs Trucks have this done every Oil Change!) ....a competent shop will always reccomend a lots of pertinent tests first, "BEFORE", reccommending an "Engine Rebuild!" I took out the m,do it yourself stuff, as it is a bit complex for the everyday person. Even the backyard mech, needs to know which valve is up or down to do a proper leak down test. Leave it to the Mech/techs ok. But...test it before you spend that $$$$$ It just may be a leaking valve thats wrong, and not the leaking pocketbook to do the whole thing. From a retired trucker and certified autopartsman/warehouseman.
  9. I had the 72' Corolla model with the same motor I think? Long time ago, but the muffler system sucked (Power loss). One day it gave me so much greif, I went and replace it from the Header output to the tail end with a 1" straight peice of tubular steel pipe! Suprise Suprise! Without all the garbage in between it sounded better, and actual had a bit of a power boost to! BTW, first chance if you get it put a solid state ignition in it, rip out the old Dist.Cap system too? It was a bastard if you got it wet back then by going through deep puddles! ha ha ha...( I had a propane torch ready in the trunk all the time) OOPs, just re-read, you found out about the crappy ignition system already I see? ha ha ha....
  10. Linux is looking better and better to me everday soon? Prob is, the newer games may not play?
  11. I LIKE IT! Adopt me please "Daddy?" LOL BTW, where's the Pic of the "Mouse Running in the Wheel with a long Power cable running to your PC" for this new Monitor at? WOW! LOL!
  12. Wonder what the prob is with that map? The "Yellow" light a get, as it may be a stuck, "kill" on the sniper flare gun...but that "red" light? Would be kinda interesting to me anyway to see if anyone here has seen the "Red" light anywhere else in the game? Ps, I say game, as some idiot will make the usual "Red Light" district in real life right? ha ha ha!!!
  13. When the Tech/Plumber fixes that "Leak" don't forget to "Benchmark" your Video Card again ok?
