Hi all, I to Like and dislike many aspects of the mw2 mod.
I like that multiple people can melt.
I like the way the sniper rifles dont have sawy "hold breath to steady it."
I like the airstrikes and the heli an uav.
I dont like how hard it is to melt.
I dont like that the clays go away when frozen and not when melted.
I dont like that you cant marty someone with a frag when first froze! grrr
Im pretty sure I remember the reason why the melting is different on both the mw2 and server 1 & 2.

Kill3r with openwarefare made the freezetag mod. Openwarefare released thier source, and SLEDGEHAMMER was able to create the mw2 mod. If SLEDGEHAMMER releases his source code maybe some adjustments can be made to mw2 also by others. Kill3rs first version of freezetag had the same style of melting as the mw2 mod does now.
G13 ask Kill3r to modify it so it would be like it is today on Server 1 & 2.
After much work he got it, but multiple players could no longer melt one frozen player and one person got a point now for himself for the melt instead of a point scale for multiple players. Also the melting was much more easy.
Reason:
It all boils down to the placement of the laser and "what" its connected to. "the weapon model or the player model"
With Server 1&2 mod, the invisible laser is connected to the "player models" head bone."you melt better because its high on the player models head but its attached to the player now, so only one person gets to melt at a time and get a point"
With mw2 mod, the invisible laser is connected to the "weapon model"."This is why multiple people can get points & melt frozen players, its also why its hard to melt past objects"
This was the delema. Im sure its the problem SLEDGEHAMMER is facing atm.
