  1. Many of you know i had problems and couldnt get COD4 to play due to computer shutting down and an APP crash message from COD4. I have done everything i can do including, new memory, PSU, GPU... New copy of COD4, fresh install of updates for everything possible for the game and my PC. The game simply will no longer play and after all of this im exhausted trying to get it to work. So im officially retired from COD4. Hope to see you guys on Battlefield 3 and COD MW3. cheers...
  2. MadMonk64 Try this(this works for windows 7) Hit start button, go to sound, then recording, enable the Stereo Mix. Restart your computer, should work) Tried that but i dont even have a Stereo Mix, I checked for disabled devices, not there....
  3. Cavey GixXxer robdevil Gixx try to update all chipset, sound and video drivers, reinstall punk buster, reinstall game, try to direct connect by xfire, reinstall windows. buy new PC LOL, i've done all that except buy new PC.... Gix have you reformatted your hhard drive, and built from scratch? If not I would recommend you do. As SOB said it is always a sound card driver issue. I would recommend installing all hardware drivers first, and COD 4 last. I havent reformatted yet, but as you say i think im gonna have to. I will reformat and then update all drivers and then install the game and see what happens. The weird thing is my PC has been shutting down just browsing the interent, mainly when watching a video full screen, wouldnt even play facebook games. I'm hoping its a softwarte issue and not bad RAM or GPU... Thanks for the input, ill see what happens and get back to everyone...

  5. I can go into the menu for COD4 and do whatever i want and everything works fine. As soon as i click " Join Game " i get that iw3mp.exe error and here's the message i get..... Problem Signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: iw3mp.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 4859a219 Fault Module Name: iw3mp.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4859a219 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 001477da OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 I have no idea what this is, i reinstalled the game and all the patches, updated all my drivers, and this is all i get for the last 2 months. The weird thing is, every once in awile, it will let me play for a bit and then reboot my pc... If anyone know what all this is, help would be appreciated....
  6. Pondscumz - Best video card for DirectX 11? I am thinking about upgrading my video card to something that supports directx11. Any suggestions on a video card that won't break the bank? And how can I find out what my power supply is in my system? Thanks You could get a GTX 580 Hydro Copper 2. I got 3 in SLI and their nice. No noise because no fans, it's setup to be water cooled. I picked up 3 of these for around $2400 and water system for a few hundred. If you just get a single card it's only $700 - $800 depending where you get it.. good luck.
  7. Sonovabich Type /+activate in the console and you just point, no pressing F key and also it stops you picking up random weapons....you silly Cuckoo you It also keeps you from being able to pick up weapons when you need too.
  8. PrimalFear 389 on day four with over 400 members and 2000 registered? 2 clicks 2 seconds Thats what im sayin', there's 462 XI members, so should be atleast 462 votes per day.
  9. Bomber Were you running cod with 4 video cards previously? If not try running it with only 2 cards. Just a shot in the dark. yes, it ran fine for a long time, just decided to do this now.
  10. Graffitti >XI< as I run some DX 11 games, under W7, like Crysis 3, my computer just refuses to run WaW or CoD normally, without getting the message "You're computer seems to have changed since the last tilme you ran" , and CoD 4 gets me the same message as yours... Just launchthe game several times after.... No real solmution for your problem, but this is not exceptionnal Here are my PC spec's incase you see something wrong here... Mobo: ASUS Rampage III Black Edition ROG CPU: Intel Core i7-990X 3.4 Ghz GPU: (4) EVGA Geforce GTX's 580 FTW Hydro Copper 2 in Quad SLI water cooled. RAM: Corsair GT Dominator 24 GB @ 2000 Mhz I've tried running the game 858934578934 times and it will not play, dunno what else to do.
  11. I apparently fixed something to where i can play other games with random re-booting. Now i have a new problem... I can start the game and do whatever i want in the menus, but soon as i click join game to bring up server listings i get a iw3mp.exe error... I re-installed the game and it does the same thing, is there something i'm over looking?? Thanks for any advice...
  12. You get 1 vote per 24 hours. If every member of the XI clan would vote once per day that would equal 462 votes a day. Do that for 30 days and you got 13,860 votes a month, not counting all the Non-members that vote. There should be 1386 votes right now just from XI members not counting today's votes and Non-member votes, but there's less than 400. Come on people !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Weird. I Couldn't get to the menu of COD4 without my pc rebooting. I updated the drivers for my video card, no results. So i took my video card out and plugged it in to my second PCIe slot and updated the drivers and now i can play for 1-2 hours before a reboot happens. I'm lost. I'm about to buy all new memory, vid card and PSU. If that don't work, i have a lighter and a whole bottle of lighter fluid
  14. google GixXxer NickTheGrip Man, the first place I would look is at the Power Supply. If it is on the "hairy edge" of supporting your hardware and your video card kicks in to high gear when you start the game it might be pushing it over the edge. The voltage drops below the low limit and your computer shuts down and re-boots. I had that happen to me on my old POS when I installed a new video card and didn't have the power to support it That would be my first check, after that, go through the usual things - re-seating the memory sticks etc I removed all my memory and tried one stick at a time trying to find a bad one, and i get same results on each stick or any combination. I disassembled my video card and cleaned all the dust out of it, the temp is good. I wondered if there was something going on with the game itself but when i try other games it does the same thing so i figured its definitely a hardware issue. I think it would be weird for all my memory sticks to be bad at the same time but who knows. So it's either the memory or possibly the Power Supply. My power supply is 1000 Watt so i know it's not a lack of power, but if one of the rails is failing that cold be causing it. Do you know a way to test the power supply? Thanks..... borrow another power supply......the easiest test...ty Yeah that would be easy, but I don't know anyone with a power supply that would run my PC... I could just buy another PSU and if it dont help i could send it back, lol...
  15. Raf-X3 Have you ever "Fix it Center", a program of Microsoft tried? Never really looked at it, does it tell you if certain components are bad?
