A console message came up in the Nam server referencing key binds? Where do I find them?

No one knew when I asked in game but a comment was made about being able to shoot and aim down sight with one key stroke or key bind. I know how that is done in the config file and even talked to Chile about it long ago and showed him how it worked so as an admin he would be aware of it. He felt it would be considered a cheat and I agreed that server rules apply. Just like some can PB kick for setting the scoll button to fire.

Anyway, in todays conversation it was said that there was a bind somewhere on XI to do just what I talked about to Chile.

So my questions are two........ is it a cheat or allowed?

And where is the bind info so I may abide by allowed rules.

I have Googled this but still do not quite understand this update message that I get with Win 7. Probably because of my computer illiteracy.

In layman's terms can someone explain if fwupdate.exe is good or bad?

Should I allow the update or not?

If bad how do I kill it?

I have changed sides only if I notice an imbalance with the teams by 2 or more players rather than waiting for auto-balance.

I have done this while frozen because I hit tab to see whats happening. If I change I wind up frozen in the same spot but on the other team.

Again, I have only changed to fairly balance the teams.

I am first generation American with both my parents as immigrants, not that it really means anything except that my parents received their citizenship the hard way..............they earned it. My Father came through Ellis Island and my Mother was sponsored by her older sister who was already here.........also via Ellis Island.

As a son of immigrants I strongly support racial profiling as an excellent tool for law enforcement. For those who are checked because of their ethniticity...............get over it.

Border Patrol, TSA, and any law enforcement agency should be able to use racial profiling simply because of the likelyhood of various ethnic cultures having a high probability of being illegal or a threat to our security.

Can the sensitivity and do whats best to comply with our laws and protect ourselves.

On another note can the stats in the upper right of the screen be removed? In dialogue I have had in game I found none who likes them.

And on the Noobie side, the AR 16 going single shot is a pain for a run and gunner like me. It goes single shot when switching weapons. Not a game feature that a run and gun player like me finds as useful.

Darn fast is you ask me. The Ace Mod is well above normal server side settings. I suppose when you get used to the speed it's okay but I am running out of breath chasing people around

I voted for more Nam maps. First because I like the FT version better than FF. Second because it seems all jungle maps have been removed from the FF server.

I also think Mikey has a post somewhere else in the forums requesting new maps.

Recently the server has been receiving good traffic.

Whatever is done good job by all responsible.

Too many Admin's for me to know who does what

PS.....is there an actively involved Admin specifically for the Nam server to whom requests could be directed or is Public Forum the best way?

My issue has been resolved thanks to my son and his direction.

I opened the install CD and copied all the files from the CD to the D drive and then ran Install (Setup) from there. Went like clockwork.

I can not convey how he explained the computer mechanics to me but appaerently when reading from an Install involves a reading process that can give a full CD error message. By copying the files to my D drive the method of installation changes and it loaded fine. This is especially true with older programs, in this case the CD is from 1998.

He explained it in some computer lingo I did not understand nor am able to repaeat, I just did what he told me.  All I can say it worked like a charm and might be useful knowledge for others who may encounter similar problem.

What happens if you grap the Program from the normal PC and copy it on the laptop just to test?

I know you might be missing Registery settings ,but just to test first.

 

I had copied it to my Data Disk, drive D and tried tranferring to C. Program did not work.

Did not work right on D either but I did forget to check commpatibility. I will play around more next week while on the road.

Once I register with ASUS perhaps they might be of some help also.

But on the bright side I can game with a good FPS.

I am famiiar with the compatability choice with regard to an installed program that is not functioning properly. I also checked the executable properties / compatibility but on the install disc it does not permit an OS choice, it's in grey and not active. When installed it becomes a viable option.

I will however double check. I also need to check if it has a custom install option...... that might offer some options that may work.

Just odd that the only place I had issues is with the laptop from ASUS. My 2 PC's which are also Win 7 installed fine, on one I did need to run at Win 95 XP compatibility. Odd how PC's are so different.

I have not yet registered my laptop, when I do I may see what tech support ASUS can provide.

I also saved the provided link and will monitor it periodically.

I have a new laptop and and having problems installing an old program I use for customer contacts. It's called Sidekick 98.

I have it installed on 2 PC's running WIN 7 with no problem. When I try to install on my laptop it gets 72% of the way through and then I get a "Disk Full" message. It's not full, there are 60 free gigs. I have also installed other programs since then.

I can install it on my Data Disk but not on the primary C drive.

Any ideas on how to get around the Disk Full problem when I know the Disk is not full?

The laptop is an ASUS ROG G73JH. Made for gaming.

Windows Defender comes with the WIN 7 program.

Does anyone know just how good it is or should you be downloading one of the free Antivirus programs like Avast or AVG or perhaps a bought program like Spyware Doctor or Webroot?

I know you advised not to run both because of conflicts.

Bottom line am I okay with what WIN 7 provides?

Edit: My new laptop from Asus had a trial version of Trend Micro installed. Deleted that sucker, it would not let me download maps and even caused an occaisional lockup when trying to download.

I got the stock offering but did add Student Office 2007.

I should add I looked for this one day and it was sold out, next day available. Has not yet shipped.

Edit: I should also add that I now have a new puppy who has found a place in our hearts and softened the blow. No new dog ever replaces an old friend but they do carve a new place in your heart all of their own.

Just a few that happen to be on Photobucket. Numerous other modern rifles, pistols and shotguns. Most guns are stored in my gun safes (3).

I also hold a C&R License (Curio & Relic) so I can buy many WW I and WW II weapons personally. Ones you would recognize that I have are Mosins, KAR, Arisaka, 1903, 1917 Enfield, British Enfields, Mausers and of course M1's and M1A's.........the carbine. All in good shooting condition.

I guess I have an addiction.

Congrats to the Canadian women on their hockey victory over the USA.

A well played game and being the male chauvinist pig that I am I must also have to admit the game was both entertaining and lively. This old man would not want to get into a fight with any of those girls.

Also deserving special kudos is Joannie Rochette the Canadian figure skater who took home the Bronze metal by skating through the grief she suffered when her Mother died of a heart attack while in Vancouver to see her daughter skate. An amazing emotional performance.

Now if the Canadians are a sporting lot they will let the USA win if they happen to meet in the Gold Medal Game. THat way we each have a victory in hockey.
