i've got a quick question on the statsgen for rick...
if you play a partial round and leave before the map is over, does it still count? some of the maps in ftag1 and ftag2 can take a while as you all know - if you have to take care of kids or eat or something and leave before a team reaches 500, do your stats still count for the partial game?
also, from looking at the rankings, statsgen provides weighted skill scores, which i don't know how they are figured but weighted skill (and ratio, my favorite) seem to be good indicators of success. however, when a new guy comes in and plays one map for a 60/20 kills/deaths and is never seen again, his or her name tends to stay high atop the leaderboard (for ratio, weighted skill too, etc). this would seem to take away from XI members and others who play at a high level over a long period of time. when you play that much, it is near impossible to achieve/maintain a 3.0 k/d ratio, but those frequent players deserve higher rankings because maintaining 2.0 k/d over 10000 kills is much much harder than doing a 4:1 or 3:1 for just one map. a solution would seem to be a gradually rising floor for total kills or maps played to be eligible for the leaderboard. in other words, when stats are reset the floor is 0 maps played to be eligible for the leaderboard. after 30 days the floor would be 50 maps played or some other variable that may be tracked. total kills, etc. just a thought. i think the new stats are excellent.
i guess a good analogy would be baseball. anyone can go 3 for 4 on one night, but can you go 2 for 4 every night for 162 games?
