i cant figure out why it says i only have 75 free out of 280..there is nothing on this machine...i wanna strangle something

just got sound working...that was fun...cant find shit to adjust vid card . downloaded latest update ,something doesnt seem right...just saw that i have 75 gigs free out of 275?...that aint right.and there is nothing on this pc. no pics,no music/no programs..only 2 partions. c and d. d is like 8 gigs ,recovery.c is like 275...???

well i got win7 working...not much trouble. connected right up to the internet and seems to be working fine...ahh a frsh new system to muck up!...

ok i think im gonna take the jump and try win 7. i have xp media center now and thanks to Markoff!, i am gonna try 7 but i dont wanna screw anything up. i have backed up the stuff i gotta have. Im trying to find any drivers for crap i need.i wanted to do a partition and have both xp and 7 .but my partition didnt work , so im gonna just put the disk in and run it.so then that should put a whole new os on my system?.then can i partition and put xp on one?. anyone have any thoughts or what i should look out for?.i dont wanna screw this up...thanks for the help..

i was going to make a post about a similar.i have YES checked in my profile to recieve emails when replies to posts are made. do i still need to subscribe to each post?..i never get any emails about posts, only notified of PM's..

read a story and heard a bit about the update KB971033 ..i guess what it does is it phones home to Microsoft every 90 days and validates your copy. looking for pirate copies. but it can still decide it doesnt like your legitimate copy and invalidate it. I imagine they will incorporate it in a bunch of updates, but you can always goes and delete the update..but just aa warning.

looks like i didnt have 5 installed. the 1.4-1.5 ..i couldnt even find it in my cod folder, so i dont know how it would have gotten installed..anyway,downloading it now..

came across this little prog. lets you copy and paste to your little heart's content. add's them all to the clipboard. no more copy and then go paste it and then go back and copy again. It allows your clipboard to hold more than one entry. So copy a URL and some text and a few e-mail messages. Then paste them wherever you’d like without going back and forth. i'm trying to up date my cod5,which i bought last friggin year and never played..so i download ther patches thru xfire and i get thry 1.4. the next patch sats 1.5-1.6 .. so i click it and it says this is 1.6 i need 1.5. so go and grab another copy of 1.5. and it says its already installed. so i try 1.6 again and it says i need 1.5 still....so someone is lying to me...any clues?..its a catch 22
