 I had the same prob with the mike with win 7,

Just go into the game settings and enable it manually.

(on xp I think it is set default already)

 Yeah, finally got it working.  Still getting used to Windows 7, it is pretty different from XP, but I like it so far.

 

I figured out the front mic plug just won't work no matter what I do, but the rear plug worked fine after I re-set everything & manually configured the mic with Windows Live setup.  It would be a SHAME to deprive you all of my sexy James Earl Jones/ Johnny Cash voice in game.

 

Now the only thing is, every time I start up COD2 the screen is dark as hell, but when I go into Options/ Graphics - if I move the brightness slide even one pixel, it instantly pops back to regular brightness.  Not a big issue, but I have to do it every time I start COD2.  Oh well, could be worse I reckon.

 

Thanks for the recommendations though, fellas...
