I was onboard the USS George Washington CVN73 off the coast of North Carolina doing excersises. After the second plane hit we got the call to head to New York. We steamed hard north and arrived on day two off the coast of Long Island providing support. I remember standing there watching the smoke billowing over the city skyline. It all seemed so unreal. We could watch CNN and see the news footage of us arriving. I remember watching people on the shore cheering us on! The US Navy had arrived and we were going to kick some ass!

It will be in my memory for ever, I was in the office at the company I worked for then in Warrington, when one of the sales guys had just got in from off the road, he had heard on the car radio (no radio's or TV's allowed at work due to heavy machinery), and everyone clicked on the internet to see what was happening,  the room had about 25 people and it was the quietest I had ever know, followed by talk showing complete disbelief and bewilderment.

The receptionist then hooked up the conference room TV, and we all watched in stone cold silence again the live feed images.

I was sleeping (west coast) and my buddy called and woke me up.  He said "we are at war, turn on the news."  I then hung up and called my girlfriend who was on vacation in Cali.  Woke her up and then she was not able to come home for a few days.  I went to work (grocery store) and it was a very slow day and a whole lot of tears.  A few years later I met RIPZILLA and been friends with him ever since.

Now I do not feel that we have killed enough of the terrorists, and anyone associated with them.  We can never kill enough.  I will never forget.  I mourn the people lost and pray for the soldiers fighting and long for the death of the enemy!  That is what happened to me that day.
