I ran a traceroute and this is what I get, Tracing route to ip50.208-100-42.static.steadfast.net [208.100.42.50]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 10 ms 11 ms 11 ms rc1sc-ge5-0-0-2.wp.shawcable.net [64.59.181.130] 4 14 ms 11 ms 7 ms rc1nr-tge0-0-1-0.wp.shawcable.net[66.163.73.181] 5 34 ms 31 ms 31 ms rc2ec-tge0-8-2-0.il.shawcable.net [66.163.77.133] 6 29 ms 30 ms 27 ms eqix1.chi01.steadfast.net [206.223.119.34] 7 29 ms 29 ms 29 ms ip50.208-100-32.static.steadfast.net[208.100.32.50] 8 88 ms 75 ms 71 ms ip50.208-100-42.static.steadfast.net [208.100.42.50] Trace complete. 192.168.0.1 is my router. The first hop after my router times out every time. If I take out the router and run the modem straight to the PC then it is the first hop that times out. I have a tech coming to the house on Friday morning to troubleshoot the issue. Hopefully they can find/fix the problem. I fully expected to get the run-around from the ISP, but the guy on the phone was helpful and concurred with me that there was a problem. Over the course of our phone conversation I learned that his kid is a gamer and they are on one of the higher tier plans that my ISP recently released ( kudos for his smooth, soft-sell tactics ). The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to upgrade. My current plan which I've had for years is 10Mb/sec down and 2/Mb/sec up. Through ISP upgrades I have been getting 20+Mb/sec down for about 1 1/2 years free of charge. The new plan would be an extra 10 dollars a month and give me 50Mb/sec down......Sweeeeeeeeeet! (They have 100Mb/sec but its $120/month, no thanks). I told him my stance on the whole issue was that, if they can fix my ping I would upgrade if not I would probably have to cancel my service and find another ISP. So enjoy killing me with my double ping while you can. It could soon be fixed and my speed DOUBLED! Regards Bomber

Thats cause I have connections. last night me and the Ping Gods got together for some "refreshments" and I asked them to get you dialed in. Glad your back to 45-5 K/D ratio instead of that unsightly 45-7 that that ping caused you to suffer through. Have a nice day! Next!!???
