Disclaimer: I am no pro. If you've done these things already, I apologize as I don't know how to help. Here's what I would check to troubleshoot: - No firewall at all (windows or any zone alarm or norton type crap), beware of any antivirus with added "features" sometimes they will block other things. I would temporarily disable the antivirus altogether for testing purposes. - Are you behind a router? Are you using wifi? Plug in directly to the modem.

My BFG 8800GT was in my pc for 2 years and is now in my son's pc and still running strong, after I upgraded to a GTX285. I think it's all about pc case temps and keeping the dust from accumulating. In the past, cards that I did not necessarily take care of crapped out at a year or so.

Ruggerxi I just got done testing with Angel on Server 2 the shotty damage Angel with the auto 7 - 10 yards took 2 shots 1 shot nearly took all health 10 - 13 took 2 - 3 shots depending on where the first shot hit 13 - 17 was very tuff 4 shots to kill couldnt hit above 17 yards but im sure you could but the damage would be minimal thank you Angel Was that with deep impact/stopping power on?

Angel, even with as much as you hate me, I will admit you're right. I am no expert with server configs, no doubt. BUT. I have been gaming for far too long to not be able to tell the difference, and as Angel put it, something is definitely different. Don't say it's because someone is mad either, because I am not mad and just happen to outrank most of you in that server(even with your shotties). Maybe Danko can chime in on this one? He seems to be at the top of the shotgun leaderboard. There is something just not right about the shotty JUST LIKE there is something not right with the sniper rifle (which has been confirmed). Maybe it is in the actual ftag mod files? Who knows. I don't really care either way. I will find my way to the top of the leaderboard regardless. Just pointing out an obvious flaw to see if there's maybe a possibility of balancing the game a little better.

Very good information about the sniper rifles, you guys are really knowledgeable. But are we sure about this shotgun thing? I can understand bird hunting at 30 yards with some bird shot, but in a tactical/war scenario? You spray someone with bird shot at 30 yards all you're gonna do is piss them off. Then again, use some buck shot at 30 yards, it seems that the accuracy should go way down, and even if you did hit, it should not be a killshot. At thirty yards the spread is going to be pretty wide.

Could someone review the server config for the freezetag 2 server? The shotguns seem very overpowered and the sniper rifles just the opposite. You can get killed with a one shot shotgun blast from 20 yards. With a sniper rifle however, it's almost like you're shooting rubber bullets. Any hit with a .50 cal should be a one shot kill, but it's not. I wouldn't even post this if I didn't also hear a few members make similar statements. Maybe this is a known issue and that's how you guys want the server, and if so that's fine. Just wanted to bring it up for discussion.
